Ok Al, but let's not claim that's representative of the entire fan base.

All injuries are different on a case to case basis, but the brain is kind of an important organ I hear.

That's my point LSUPatrick, this isn't an ankle or knee that can get reinjured and heal to some degree despite a repeat injury on a weak joint, bone, ligament, or muscle. This is the brain. It's not a game to mess with head injuries, period. They should be extremely OVER-cautious, not trying to push him to the minimum requirements for a very minor concussion, which is generally 2 weeks.

For the record it is not the sentiments of the entire fan base.

I like Tebow, because I like what he stands for both on & off the field. His missions work over seas, prison ministries etc... However I do not want him to be successful against LSU of course. I wish he would not play due to the fact that he's got so much to lose. I wish him well, just not tonight!!

its absurd to think Meyer will play him if not cleared by the doctors

the doctors will put his health before football, trust me.

if he indeed cannot play ,he wont.

quit acting like its more than that

LesterEarl, you douchebag, how about read the thread before jumping to attack statements. Its not about whether he's cleared or not, but the system used to clear him. This isn't about if he's "cleared" but what in reality is BEST for Tebow's health and if its worth the risk. Lots of players have been medically cleared with various injuries only to learn harshly they weren't ready.

With head injuries, this shouldn't be an option. If he plays, I hope he avoids injury, but I also hope we blitz the ever living daylights out of him because he made that choice to play rather than be cautious and think of his future.

So if Tebow had not been injured, would you be against our team blitzing him and trying to clean his clock? I think not. I didn't say for them to injure him, I said clean his clock, or knock the hell out of him like they would've had he not be injured.

The fact is that if he gets injured by a legal, clean hit by LSU, I won't have any sympathy for him, Meyer, UF or its doctors. It would show how stupid they are. I'd feel for the kid, but it was his decision. I do not, however, hope he gets hurt.

So what?! You can put ANY other player's name in there and make the exact same statement.

What you're basically saying is if a player gets hurt by a legal hit, that's the nature of the game.

Big deal.

if he's stupid enough to risk his health, and so are his coaches and team doctors, then so be it.

Again, the same thing can be said for anyone who plays the game.

Sheesh.

I think he would be putting any other kid's name in there if it involved a head injury...that's the jist of his argument.

I would say this for any player suffering that type of injury. It's just stupid to play someone this soon after that type of injury. A kid that looked to have a much milder concussion in the same game, but that is a special teamer has already been called out for this game.

That is my issue. You put a player most likely at risk to get a blow to the head as a possibility to play following a worse blow, but keep out a special teamer at less risk? Yes, logic there.

This is a great opportunity for a coach to really show that a player's health is much more important than the game.

GeauxBob....I totally agree. However, we are talking about Meyer here and he will use any and all means at his disposal to totally beat down his opponent. If Fla. is out of everyone's class like they claim, Tebow's absence would not be a factor anyways. A coach who is truly concerned about his players health would have stated from the get go....I'm going to err on the side of caution and wait at least another week after him being cleared before allowing him to return to contact.
