I agree but we did lose arguably our best overall player and most important defensive player like 20 minutes into a season where depth was a real concern.

Hell the team we are playing this week is on their 3rd string center. It’s part of the game Nancy

I’m with you, but I believe if it had been Bama and Tennessee rather that Southern and New Mexico, most of those guys would have been on the field (outside of the obvious season ending injured)

Like everyone else has said, injuries are normal.

It just sucks because we don't have quality depth at many positions, but that's to be expected after only finishing last season with 39 scholarship players.

I’m not sure you understand the term “ceiling”. Yes we are probably an 8-4 or 7-5 type team but ceiling means the absolute best you could do if everything goes right. Our ceiling probably is 9-3 or even 10-2. I don’t agree with much else in the OP’s message but he wasn’t much off on that.

Understanding that while all teams experience players who are hurt and injured, the affect is not the same.

Who, when, how severe, etc all play into how it impacts each team differently.

Correct but idk why you think any of LSU's injuries are season threatening?

Goodwin may be the first back out there but he doesn't get more carries than the other 3 or 4 and outside of 1 HUGE run against State, idk that he has done anything better than the other guys we have. He is a good player but so are the others and we still have 3 of them.

Maason Smith is probably the biggest loss but we have looked great upfront on D with Wingo stepping up big time.

Dellinger does sting a bit cuz it looked like our OL was gelling but we will move Frazier over to LG and play Bradford at RG. Both of those guys have started for us this year and both are solid guards. And from the sound of it, Delly might be back for Tenn.

Major Burns is the only other injury that I can think of and it happened just in time for us to get Joe Foucha.

Look we do have some guys injured but we are fortunate that the injuries have occurred in areas where we have the depth to deal with it.

Smith stings.

But Butns to Foucha is a net gain

And as you stated our RB room is pretty full of similar type backs

I see no problem w Dellinger out for a game We have built a pretty deep OL group

Injuries are creeping in onto starters!

It just continues. This year is different, however, as we have a competent coaching staff who know what they're doing in personnel development.

If 9-3 isn’t our ceiling, is 7-5 are team’s floor?… Asking for a friend.
