Our floor is 3-9 at this time, ceiling is, unlikely, but 11-1.

Most rational people understand we will land between 8-10 wins, so 9 is a good ceiling to put on this team.

Every team will be missing their most productive running back for their first conference road game?

Sure, every team has injuries but it’s short sided to act like the impact to every team is the same. That’s just not the case.

You state that LSU's injury to our "Starting RB" is worse than what other teams are dealing with.

Its not.

I picked 9-3 before the season. That may have been a bit over optimistic considering the roster turnover. The record shouldn’t be the biggest concern this year. We should all be very happy as long as we see a constant improvement and so far that is happening.

. Thats a fact but they have impact. Usually negative. But maybe backups are super ready and capable. We will see.

You wanted half the season with no injuries? That’s just not realistic.

That’s not what the OP is saying. Some of y’all are contrarian just to be contrarian or else just plain dense.

Of course all teams deal with injuries and no the OP didn’t expect to go half year without any. He is simply saying we are not as deep with quality players as we have been in years past or as most other teams normally are. This is due to the mad exodus after last season. The lack of quality depth is what is going to hender us.

If this is about our most productive RB being out, I think that has more to do with Emery’s suspension than anything. Goodwin was intended to be a depth piece from the get-go until the NCAA shite on us yet again. I think we’re in pretty good shape right now. I’d be elated if it weren’t for Smith’s ACL. One banged up safety (who will be replaced with an SEC starter), one guard that will be out a week, and one freshman running back that admittedly has played better than expected. No reason to panic.

Tennessee was without their best WR vs Florida and the transfer WR showed up and out in that game with 5 catches for 102 yards and a TD.

Kentucky has beaten Florida on the road already without their most productive back from last year (1380 yards 6.2 ypc 9 TDs) as he's been suspended.

Despite them sucking, Auburn has beaten a SEC team and was without their starting center and starting QB.

Zach Evans left the Tulsa game for Ole Miss and he might not even play vs Kentucky.

TAMU just lost their leading receiver (he was the leading receiver last year also), for the year.

Bryon Young, starting senior DL for Bama is in the same state as Goodwin as he is questionable for their game vs Arkansas.

Arkansas lost their best DB and future NFL draft pick Jalen Catalon after the first game of the season.

when people ask for floors and ceilings on records they generally mean realistically. To go 3-9, we'd have to lose to possibly the 4th worst team in the SEC and UAB. Unless drastic injuries occur, saying that's our floor and actually being serious about it shows how pessimistic one is.

I never stated it was worse, I stated it was different.

You're seeing what you want to see, not what I said or meant.

So you were just yelling at the clouds? What's the point of your first post if not to insinuate that LSU's injury situation is bad?

Which, again, its not.

Next up, is the reason depth needs to always be a focus, and backups always need to be prepared for the opportunity

We came into the year with depth issues....definitely worried about significant injuries before we get to the finish line. It was the one great unknown, and we lost Mason Smith immediately.

Except when they’re severe enough to force you to miss time and/or are lingering enough to cause a a sever drop in production.

Please enlighten us where we are banged up/depleted to where we will have a severe drop in production?

Mason? Thought so, when it happened... But turns out Wingo is a baller and Defense now 14th, and we have Guillory for depth. One more injury there, then I'm buying your story. Our LB are fine, our DB are fine as well our Safeties.

Dellinger? No way! Frazier, Shorts move to that side and in goes big boy at RG. We even have Martinez, Thomas, etc. so we are fine even if we lose another starter on the OL. Remember, we have BK and he had 8-9 depth at the OL position ready to play/rotate. We are fine!

Goodwin? No way! We are not replacing Walter Payton, but I do like Goodwin's style... Emory, Williams and Cain say hold my beer
