I've never heard this. We won a natty in '09, got sent to the UCLA regional, and missed the tourney the next so I guess it's possible. But we were national seeds six straight seasons afterwards ('12 - '17). Stanford is the only other school to accomplish that.
I like CPM. Thought he was a classy guy and a heckuva coach. I do know we were about .500 in SEC games over his last four seasons so it was time. FTR, I hope he never wins another natty because I hope we win 'em all. But if not, it'd be cool for him win nattys at multiple schools.

He was a one hit wonder, just like Orgeron and Miles. Appreciate what they all did but glad they are gone.

We need to pick a hotel to take over and get our reservations in early. Wonder when they decide on the team hotel?
eta: It's May 15, 16, 17. Hopefully the final game is early afternoon, then after it I could head up to Greenville to see Staind and Breaking Benjamin.

To set the record straight, both of his neck surgeries were while he was at LSU. They weren’t successful. He’s had none since he left. Said the SC job fell in his lap and his neck had heeled when he got the call.
