Looks like Marshall was disappointed not to get an offer
I bet he was disappointed that Aiken and his family were such bitches (turning down $5 million with a sketchy elbow) and therefore fricked over both he and Nix.
Good for LSU though!

The great thing about this class is that while it is talented and deep, we should have a solid enough nucleus that no one has to be thrown in before they are ready. Some of the pitchers will obviously play big roles early because they are so talented and we don't have much experience returning, but we have a lot of options besides them. That's even more true for the lineup, which should be pretty good even without any contributions from the class. So you shouldn't have a case of a Stevenson or Robertson getting thrown in, struggling, and having their confidence shot to hell.
And my favorite Marshall highlight. Video should start with the right pitch, but it is at the :40 mark if it starts from the beginning.

I would love to have tracking on it get a better idea of how much it moved. Looks like 2 feet in realtime. :drool

OMG that changeup is disgusting.

There's CB at 1:10 that falls off a table. Tougher to see vs. a lefty though.

It's not too crazy at all to think he may be the Friday night guy. Throws harder while all three top pitches appear to be better than Poche' (aka NO SLOUCH).

quote:He CAN throw harder. But his issue was consistency with velocity and location. You can see in the video that he overthrows often letting the ball sail.
Throws harder
Dunn has to be licking his chops over these guys though.

He sits a 1-2 mph harder than Poche' when he isn't reaching for extra, according to scouting reports. I am basically counting on the Dunn Effect to do the rest. Let's hope Pitch Count Paul lets the expert on staff handle matters.

He definitely needs to get his control together. That's always been the knock on him. Dunn is the perfect guy for Mac. He'll get better coaching under Dunn than he would have in 3 years in minor league ball.

I was okay with this either way, but I think it's going to be even better this way. Now the Stros can take Bregman with the extra first round pick next year.

I think itll be poche and reynolds/newman to start with mac being the sunday guy. I expect poche to be the ace.

They gonna waste another 1st round pick?

Yep. These guys have so many coaching hands in the cookie jar as they move through a system. Even if the organization has plans in place to make sure all coaches work to develop a pitcher the same ways, it isn't the same as having an Alan Dunn focused on you and your growth for three years.
