Once gameweek rolls around I kind of lose sight of ticket prices because I always have my tix well before that, and I know the general rule of thumb for any stadium over 90k seats is patience, but this particular game has a few variable that most big non-SEC games we play don’t:

-on campus
-rarity of meeting between 2 bordering “rivals” that actually never play. While Bama is our biggest game every year, LSU plays Bama...EVERY, year.
-“Texas back” and ready to show the world against an SEC team in an “undefeated matchup”...both teams only undefeated because early season game of course, but nonetheless
-O vs Herman circumstances
-both teams in Top 10 on top of all above circumstances

I have no doubt with patience LSU fans can find cheaper than $300 seats. I don’t care about Texas fans finding seats. That said, and I may be wrong, but this game strikes me as different overall circumstances than most SEC and most non-conference neutral site games we play... I do not expect general ticket prices to fall much. Can someone that really searches diligently end up finding a good deal and/or luck into a ticket? Absolutely, but I think the vast majority of ticket searchers either need to bite the bullet and spend $300+ or come to terms with potentially not being in the stadium. I actually won’t be surprised if we see ticket prices actually begin to rise over the next 7 days.

My brother and sister and Mom went to UT and live in Austin, and the way they’re talking this is like the Super Bowl has come to Austin. They actually think they’re going to win this game and legitimately compete for a national title this year. Winning a game against a depressed UGA team that had no desire to be playing in said game, has Texas thinking they’re elite again despite their slew of roster holes and depth issues.

Those $23 aren’t tickets to game...it’s some kind of bar/event but not a game ticket.

Point being I’m not going to be paying more than I have before for a regular season game. Demand is high so a lot of people who want tickets already have them. But now more tickets are entering the market. It’s going to be expensive but no more than Alabama last year.

I could buy a ticket now for what I paid for Alabama last year. Ticket prices won’t go up at least until Thursday night before the game. That’s not how ticket sales work.

Texas will get the same amount of tickets and ticket location as we do there. Texas wanted to stick with the number of tickets they give for big 12 games. We agreed since we will only have to give them 3500 here.

Good. Hopefully we dismantle them at home and next year I'll sell my tickets to them for $500 a pop and buy extra game tickets preseason as season ticket holder to go to the game. Screw these broke back cowboys...

You’re going to sell your tickets in Tiger Stadium to Longhorn fans?

LSU hasn't played in Austin since 1954; there are a lot of Louisiana natives in Texas post Katrina, and a shite load of LSU graduate$ in Houston.

Texas hasn't been a really good team in a long time, and just got past the worst 4 year period in their history.

I'm taking my brother to this game for the same reason I took him to see Vince Young play in High School. This will be a classic for the ages on either the Longhorn or SEC network. Just because it's LSU and Texas.

This game has a similar vibe to the Ricky Williams NCAA rushing record game against ATM. I didn't see any tickets available the day of the game outside the stadium.

I got mine, I hope you get yours.

Hook 'Em!!!

How are seats in Section 27? Just received 2 tix yesterday and I assume they are good but who knows. Also, what should I expect from the Longhorn fans seated around me?

Section 27 is really a pretty good area for a evening/night game. It is centered somewhere around the 20 or 25 yard line, east side/north end zone. Not a student section, lots of lettermen/alum plus quite a few 'opponents' due to re-sale of lettermen tickets and such. The middle rows are better than the lower rows in those sections.

Not as many obnoxious or drunk people as the student sections, but not the 'old fogey' section, either.

(PS It is where my tickets are )

I think it's funny that LSU is in there twice, and Bama is only once, and it's when they're playing LSU.

Sounds like my kind of section!
Crowd pretty good with opponents cheering for their team? Willing to have a good time with visitors?

Be nice to the lady in a people dress

ETA What’s considered lower rows? Thanks for the info!

I assume a purple dress, although a people dress sounds...different :D.

You will have the sun in your face for a bit until it falls below the upper deck, but with the 6:30 kickoff, that shouldn't be long. Sunset is 7:30 or 8, probably, and it will be covered by the West deck sometime before that.

As for lower rows - you really don't want to be in the first 5 or 10, I would guess. I am in Row 21 and that works well for me, I wouldn't want to be too much lower. You are toward the end of the field and don't really want sideline traffic in your way.

Ha ! Could be a hellava tailgate - have a room pretty close to the stadium, but no ticket ...... yet. With or without, I’ll be there. After a 25 year exile in TX, dealing with the most obnoxious college fans in America, would not miss aTiger beat down !

Interesting that LSU and Texas are the only two teams with two games in the top 10. LSU vs Texas, Oklahoma vs Texas and LSU vs Alabama.

Notre Dame and Michigan are on the list twice as well.

Not so interesting anymore
