LSU’s realistic NC competing teams this year

Gymnastics
Volleyball
It is what it is for football, but it’s always great to be NC contenders in any sport, and especially multiple sports.

All LSU has to do is be ranked no. 11 in football. That's it. 10 at the worst. I just don't get how you can witness something like the 07 season and say this team, for sure, is not a title contender. Even in '22, we were 4-2 heading into game no. 7 and would have been in the playoffs that year.
Why don't we at least wait until we play Ole Miss and Alabama? Or shite, get through more than a quarter of the regular season.

The good thing is, even when you say they dont have a chance, they can still win a championship. Like they did in baseball in 23.

You can’t compare baseball to football. This football team has no room
for error if they want to make the playoff. And they show no signs of being a playoff capable team.

It’s not just Ole Miss and Alabama for this team. At A&M on a second consecutive road game, at Arkansas, at Florida…none of these are guarantees for this team.

Ehh that team in 07 was really good though, they were an elite top 2 team in the nation despite losing 2 games. I remember talking to some players at a party before the season started and everyone knew they were going for the title. This years team isn't that.

I never saw this year as the football team being a real contender for NC. Now next year, I have high hopes. Nuss's senior year, Sloan more comfortable with the O and Baker having another year to develop a decent D.

You know good and well teams and individual players can't get better as the season goes even though the one consistent thing that has happened under Brian Kelly is the vast improvement of his teams and individual players as the season goes.

the 07 team was a much much better team than what we have. They LOOKED like a good team. This team has only looked like a good team here and there. They can obviously grow into a top 10 team, but they're not there right now. The 2007 team was clearly a top 5 team from the moment the season kicked off.
