for how horrible the OL has been, lee makes faster reads and gets rid of the ball about a second faster
Agreed. He also has better pocket presence and moves within the pocket while JJ tends to scramble out of the pocket when he feels pressure. Sometimes all he needs to do is slide to his left/right or step up.

I am starting to think we would be better off playing both QB since their strengths are so different. JJ can run all of the read option stuff and the short/medium passing game. JL can run everything but the read option stuff. I would love to see JL get a series in the first half against MSU to see how he responds and if we can use him for a spark in some bigger games down the line.

I think the play calling has been pretty shitty up to this point. We haven't thrown to the running back over the middle but 1 time to my knowledge and that was last week when JJ came out for a play. We aren't putting the quarterback in a position to be successful no matter who it is IMHO.

lee was a Redshirted Freshman. It wasn't like he had never seen the playbook before.

Let me ask the people calling for Lee something.

You say bring in Lee because he gives a better chance down the field...............

.....16 ints.......7 pick 6's.....

where oh where are you getting this idea that he gives us a better opportunity or better play throwing down field when teams were foaming at the mouth waiting for him to do just that?

How many more SEC defensive player's stocks do we have to raise in the draft for you to realize that its not going to happen.

Let me repeat...........16 freakin interceptions......4 in the Bama game ALONE. Wow.

So, JJ will never improve either?? So, Lee will forever throw pick sixes and JJ will never be a pocket passer?

we are doomed.

they dont even realize their circular logic.

No, we've seen enough of JLee. Yes, JJ needs more time to get a better feel.

Exactly. A large portion of our fan base is retarded.

In all these games that Lee threw these interceptions, he also threw for around 250 or so yards and around 3 TDs (based on UGA game).

No one has forgotten the interceptions. But we do know how players and teams change from season to season. I highly believe that Lee has worked on and solved (for the most part) his pick problem. And good god, if Lee has fixed his pick problem, we win every game with him at QB this year. And chances are he has at least gotten better, wouldn't you think?

No thats not what Im saying at all. Im sayin last year.......I and pretty much all of us lived with the first couple of interceptions games JL had. I gave him a pass time after time after time.

But after the Bama, Georiga, and Ole Miss game I realized like a lot of people that he just was not improving at all.

Lets face it, JL had NO threat of being benched last year unless it was by injury. He constantly made the same mistakes over and over again. There was no change or improvement over time. Even in the slightest way. We kept waiting and waiting to the point of frustration.

I was not one to see JL completely benched, no. I wanted JJ to come in for a series or too for JL to see the field a bit. Remember when Hatch came back in the game against Auburn and JL watched for awhile??? How did he play after that???

JL's play after watching for awhile was the best half Ive EVER seen him play. Even over the Troy game. He was composed and DECISIVE and remembered what he saw on the field from the bench.

This is why JJ has done well so far because he watched and watched and watched JL's constant mistakes.

JL had a chance to improve. He did. He just didnt make any progress.

JJ just threw his 1st int and had others dropped. That is not an improvement

well said. Here at LSU, the coaches take how you play as a freshman, and lock it in, so that you always play that way. Coaches do not try to make people better, they are just there to decide who plays and who doesnt. Looks like Russell Shepard is going to fumble the ball every time he catches a pass for the REST OF HIS CAREER

So, if ULaLa defenders could have caught last night and JJ had 3 INT's, would he be regressing and deemed worthy of your judgement?

Has JJ progressed against inferior talent?

Your whacked out ideas are running one way, chief. Both QB's deserve the benefit of the doubt

Its an improvement over the guy last year who was hitting the DB's, FS's, SS's and LB's in the chest dead center.

At least ULL's guys had to actually work to try and get interception.

It was so bad last year that I had a Texas fan ask me whether or not Lee was doing it on purpose. I couldnt say no with a straight face.

this is why the discussion is being had, we haven't seen any improvement in the potency of the passing game over the first 3 games. And for the first time last night, we saw JJ throw a few up for grabs.

. I just don't think decent will get us to the SEC Championship game. I just wish Lee was given the chance to prove on the field that his problems are corrected. Because I think he gives us the best chance to open up our passing attack...which in turn allows our running game to improve.

Yes, the deep game would improve with J. Lee, but so would the oppositions score. The o-line is too porous and JLee too immobile; He would get pressured frequently and we all know what happens when that happens. JJ will improve...hes too much of a competitor not to. As far as getting to the SEC championship game, i don't think its in the cards for us; i don't care who's throwing the ball.
