re: LSU would be better with J. Lee as QB (Posted on 9/20/09 at 5:07 p.m. to amarti9) quote: Let me ask the people calling for Lee something. You say bring in Lee because he gives a better chance down the field............... .....16 ints.......7 pick 6's..... where oh where are you getting this idea that he gives us a better opportunity or better play throwing down field when teams were foaming at the mouth waiting for him to do just that? How many more SEC defensive player's stocks do we have to raise in the draft for you to realize that its not going to happen. Let me repeat...........16 freakin interceptions......4 in the Bama game ALONE. Wow. In all these games that Lee threw these interceptions, he also threw for around 250 or so yards and around 3 TDs (based on UGA game).

Threw for 250 yards or so and around 3 TD's......hmm I wonder why.

1. Well if I recall we were behind. I mean they did hang FIDDY on us. So we had to throw the football..........a lot.

2. If you are so far ahead late in the game like Georgia was.......prevent D is usually the way to go to burn clock.

3. We got behind because a certain somebody wanted to throw a pick six........right out the gate.

So, if ULaLa defenders could have caught last night and JJ had 3 INT's, would he be regressing and deemed worthy of your judgement? Has JJ progressed against inferior talent? Your whacked out ideas are running one way, chief. Both QB's deserve the benefit of the doubt

Wow......I love that magical word...."IF". Bottom line.....they didnt. I agree he has been late on a few of his passes. Other times right on time. He has for the most part been good on not making the dumb decision or throwing it wayy too late like he has been with his deep balls.

And chief, I did give Lee the benefit of the doubt. A lot more than Ive given JJ. In fact I hold JJ to a higher standard than I do JL now. JL lost me in the Bama game. Up until that point I was a Lee guy because he was an LSU guy. But I had to take the loyal fan blinders off to realize that it just wasnt working.

Players do not improve. What you did last year is always going to repeat itself this year.

I dont know where you get that idea from I mean its:

-different players
-different coaches
-different captains
-different qb

So far.......3-0.

And what were we last year at this time with JLee at QB? Oh that would be 3-0, too. Smooth sailing last year wasnt it?

Some of these people were born this year it seems.

Its people like the idiots on here, that make me want J Lee to succeed if nothing else than to watch these haters implode.

No fan pulls against a player.

If you think that JJ is improving game to game, you are watching the games through rose-colored glasses. If anything, he is digressing.

I would like to see a large lead against MSU so we can possibly see JL with 12-10 minutes of real game action.

Oh, and the O-Line excuses are mute after the ULL game because there was ample time to throw all game.

.........AND like last year.....we should be giving our starting QB our full support rather than calling for the backup after starting the season 3-0.

God some of you I have to wonder about. I gave Lee ALL MY SUPPORT last year. JJ wasnt even on my radar till Hatch got hurt and that was ONLY because we needed a backup, not another starter.

Why isnt JJ getting that same benefit of "let me REALLY screw a couple of games up" beffore we send him to ride pine?

We are critiquing this guy MUCH MUCH harder than we did with JL last year. Everyone gave the kid a pass in the beginning because he was a freshmen. And rightly so. JJ isnt suppose to be the second coming of Montana and Marino right now. He's a sophomore in college still learning the game.

Jefferson is the start; sure I would like to see Lee get a few chances in live game action but not at the expense of Jefferson. Who has done nothing to lose his job yet. He has not self destructed, he has not lost a game, and he is providing mobility behind center.
Until his play regresses to the point it cost LSU games like Lee last year he has no reason not to start.

Because we now know that waiting that long to act doesnt work.

We gotta act NOW

and by that I mean, I think we need to try Lee in the mix a lot more. HOWEVER, we should support Jefferson because we know he will be under center for us, and we gotta support our players, always.
