Although the competition was "open" at QB to begin the spring, I believe that it was J.J's position to lose because of what he did against Arkansas and GT last year. I don't think this gave JL a chance to prove that he could correct his INT problems from last season (remember he was only a freshman). I was impressed with Lee throwing the ball in the spring game. Obviously the coaches are around these players more then I am, and I am not at all bashing JJ and will continue to support him as our starter, I just think that Lee might give us the best QB to help us be more productive on offense. We have plenty of players that can run the football, so we don't need a QB to do it...and we still have Shep as a change of pace QB.

This isn't a negative post towards JJ at all...He has actually done a decent job so far. I just don't think decent will get us to the SEC Championship game. I just wish Lee was given the chance to prove on the field that his problems are corrected. Because I think he gives us the best chance to open up our passing attack...which in turn allows our running game to improve.

We cannot get to Atlanta without Jarrett Lee, as someone said earlier, it should be a crime to have the WR's we do and not be able to stretch the field vertically, it is painfully obvious Jefferson cannot make those throws.

J.J isn't running for his life often. Lee is a better athlete then most give him credit for.

I don't necessarily agree. I think LSU would be better to play Lee a couple of series a game, he has proved he can throw the ball downfield.

But a total QB switch, nah.

Just play both.

So with all the chances given to secure the job spring, summer, fall scrimmages a full year more in the system, LSU should be having a qb competition during the season? He lost the starting job and he was not able to win it back. JJ is the starter.

No...I fully understand that I'm in the minority here. I think I'm making some valid points though.

If JL were QB the last 3 games, their record would still be 3-0.
