So if they play music and cook for you you go huh?

They have one of the best bands in college and they have a pretty good tailgating scene considering the size of the school, which is normal for South Louisiana.

It would be an opportunity for them to show all of these people who are making a big deal out of this that it is a pretty good experience.

I’m actually kind of shocked at how fricking pathetic and ignorant so many of these posts have been. I get the joking ones, but you people are fricking ridiculous. You truly sound ridiculous. Goddamnit.

It's Louisiana what did you expect? They voted in a man (twice) who bankrupt the state that had billions in surplus in less than 2 years. Then turn right back around and complain about the conditions of the state universities buildings falling apart as a result of it. The more things change the more they stay the same. Louisiana last in everything but first in partying and sheer ignorance

It appears that Southern’s lack of home game attendance is a result of most of their fans now go to LSU games. It’s the reason SU only plays 4 games at home these days

LMAO Where do you people come up with this insanity? LMAO

Southern supposedly gets paid more money by playing at neutral site and road games. A lot of their fans are not happy about having 4 home games but money talks.

STOP! Please Stop! You have no idea what you're talking about.

It’s part of a JBE-SWB initiative to redistribute business to NBR.

... OR, maybe it has to do with renovations in Tiger Stadium. I’ll let you decide which is more likely.

We used to play Southern Lab in basketball every year in High School.

Never had any issues. The campus was nice and there were never any fights, altercations, mugging, cars broken into, etc...

I bet the people in this thread making comments about being afraid to go to Southern for this game are the same ones who would tell the black community to shut up about prejudice because it doesn’t exist anymore.

Oh really?

There seem to be alot of misconception and negative Stereotypes regarding what goes on at The Southern University.

I see people are bringing up the Sims kid case, so Let's pretend that there hasn't been crime around and at LSU.

Instead of appreciating the fact that a neighboring university is allowing LSU to play on their field, you people are surprisingly angry. Maybe it's the idea that Southern may make some sort of profit off hosting this event and that bothers you.

For some reason, all the racist see is, we are going to a black school, so let me think of all the negative stereotypes the media has told you about the school.

I can play up negative white stereotypes as well....For example...Southern need to increase security, because you know white people like to shoot up schools and public events, or don't sell any beer because white people get sloppy drunk and drive more often than other races, or Get drug sniffing dogs to ensure they don't bring heroin or Opiods to Southern's campus.

What I just said was all stereotypes, but black people tend to give white people the benefit of doubt even though their history is racist as shite. All we ask is to provide the same.

We all bleed the same, let's appreciate the fact that the game will still be played in Baton Rouge.

Why not rotate the game around the state?

That's against NCAA rules. LSU had to get a waiver to hold it at Southern as a one time thing. LSU looked into hosting it at other neutral sites in the region but were denied. Southern was the last option before canceling.

I normally don't give a hoot about the spring game. Haven't been in decades. But I may check this one out, especially if they do cool stuff like have the Human Jukebox perform at halftime, have a tailgate/food festival, concerts, etc. I think it's something unique and good for the city. Shame they couldn't arrange an LSU-SU baseball game around it.
