I have definitely seen improved QB play over the last few years. Mett's inability to run was his crutch.

LSU is not unstoppable with a thin front 7

Just to be clear, the Tigers are lacking in experienced depth on the front 7. They have a total of 19 defensive linemen and linebackers who are likely to participate in game action this season. That's 4 or 5 more bodies than the average NFL team gets by with. Plenty of athletes there who need to be coached up and a couple of key injuries would certainly hurt but that goes for most teams. The Tigers' front 7 will likely be better than last year's and last years was part of the best defense in the league.

9-3 at best.. The SEC will beat each other up.... Hell I think the only team with a chance to only lose one game is UGA..... And that's a stretch..........

I'm with the OP.

everything I hear - these guys are hungry, and have some chemistry going. they are thinking "team", and you don't spell that with an I.

11-1; SEC championship, playoff.

I won't predict the NC, because you have to be good and lucky.

I agree. I am going with 10-2 also and a BCS game.

If BH is the QB, it will be some ups and downs, but the ups will be more like the Mett, Davey, Jamarcus days. He will have some struggles because he is young and this is the SEC. But we will see the POTENTIAL of this offense under him more so then with AJ.

This season will set LSU up for a Florida, Oklahoma, Miami, Bama type 4-5 year run of dominance. That is if BH is the QB!! With the talent LSU has recruited and will recruit offensively, with good to great QB play, LSU will be almost impossible to stop. The next 4 years with a backfield of Fournette, Williams, Brossette and Guice, you have 2 potential Heisman candidates. A WR corp of 2 former #1 recruits at their position in TJ and MD, studs in Diarse and Quinn to man the intermediate areas of the field, speed guys like Dural and Chark and add the size of Ferguson. The O-line is outstanding and the depth behind them may be better in the long run then those starting ahead of them now. The defense, I feel, will always be great. Will they be as good "statistically" as when Chavis was here? We will wait and see. Even with the great stats, LSU had horrible games under Chavis the last 3-5 years. Georgia, Arky, Ole Miss, Tenn, Notre Dame a few months ago and Miss St. But I feel under Steele, we will be more aggressive and better at getting to the QB. There is no way Steele has been around Saban and not learned anything. Also, I think he had to have learned from whatever mistakes he made years ago. But.......ultimately, he will have more talent then he ever had at Baylor and Clemson to work with and much better position coaches to help him get the players ready he is counting on to play in whatever scheme he deploys. If LSU can bring in the LBs that we have not able to get over the last few years to add to the constant NFL caliber D-linemen and Defensive Backs that come to Baton Rouge, it will be scary.

Sorry for the long post guys, but I am excited for the season that is only 2 weeks away!

I like your optimism. Running backs should be solid as normal. I like the Oline, but still worried about Alexander at RT. I like personnel at TE. Other than that, I feel we have too many question marks everywhere else.

Who cares about Finebaum, but his deal is that he realizes LSU is the biggest annual threat to Bama in most years. We all know where PFs head is stuck.

LSU could go 6-6 or 12-0 this year and it wouldn't surprise much. At this point, 7-5 or 11-1 would be no surprise at all.

Clearly on the upside the Tigers get good QB play, STs are solid, and the front 7 on D perform well with happy surprises in the depth. Maybe a couple of West teams aren't as good as projected.

On the down side, QB play falters again, the OL doesn't gel with 5 guys at different positions. No depth in the front 7 and injuries to the proven players along with most West teams being fairly to really good and one of USC and UF exceeding predictions.

Looking forward to an interesting year. With adequate QB play and if the front 7 hold up decently, I think LSU is a 9-3 team or 10-2. It is just hard to predict the opponents strength and LSU as well. I do think LSU will be better overall than last year and I hope it shows significantly better in the record.

Whoa there, sonny boy. Tap on the brakes a bit. LSU could have a formidable, BUT, at the risk of beating an exhausted horse, all depends on what kind of production LSU gets from its QB.

They do still have BCS bowl games. I wasn't referring to the Playoffs sir. The other big bowls that rotate each year are still BCS games, but they now have 2 playoff games!

Have noticed no love has been given by the SECN lately (as it should be, given last year's performance). Our WR corps did not make the top five projection, and certainly our qb didn't either.

I noticed that too on the SECN Preseason Review show. I didn't mind so much LSU not getting the attention but it kinda pissed me off the ratings Bama was getting on reputation. Their WR's were rated top 5 and haven't even started a game...

Hopefully that will add to the team's determination to excel!

I get you White Tiger, but you do realize LSU went 8-4 last year(prior to the bowl game) with terrible QB play? You do get that right? LSU lost to Miss St, Bama, Arky and Auburn. Miss St will be good but they lost so much. Bama is having more QB issues then we are and have to replace Amari Cooper and some good Defensive players. Auburn replaces a QB and I just don't think Arkansas is to the point where they constantly beat LSU.

So, while I understand some of the pessimism, I think people are overlooking the fact that other teams are going thru transitions and have less talent overall then LSU. So as I said, if LSU can get at least GOOD QB play, 10-2 is not far fetched.

Let's not be homers. While our wr corp's talent is through the roof, outside of Dural they haven't proven much on the field.

look for a JFF-Jameis Winston-Kenny Trill type of breakout from Mr. Harris.

Pump the breaks.our scheme will never allow our qb to put up JM numbers.

Honestly it shouldn't be a surprise.IMO,if Miles doesn't win 10 games this year then he has under achieved. A bunch of west teams lost a good bit of talent. Bama lost 85% of its offensive production, their leading sack player, best secondary player, and one of their best tackling lbs.
Miss St. lost at least 7 players on each side of the ball.
We have favorable ooc schedule too. There isn't an excuse of inexperience. If we don't win 10 games I think Miles' seat should be scorching in 2016

Miles can go 9-4 and the seat would not be warm... BUT if he does it again Next year[barring any glaring injuries] he may be in some trouble........

BTW this team should win at least 10 games sthis year.. I don't think they will because of playing in the West..
