They do still have BCS bowl games. I wasn't referring to the Playoffs sir. The other big bowls that rotate each year are still BCS games, but they now have 2 playoff games!

You are wrong. BCS no longer exists.

Unstoppable? I sure hope so. But there really isn't much to base it on.

We will either start a QB who could not complete 50% of his passes last year or the guy who could not beat him out. While I believe both QB's have improved over the summer and I believe that ultimately Harris will be the starter and there is potentially more upside with him, experience or lack thereof is an issue.

As for the D, there sure is lot of Chavis hate here. Hate not because he left in shitty manner but hate because of his tenure and having very good D's. Sometimes D's that led the SEC.

Maybe Kevin Steele will be the best hire in the history of D? Maybe lack of depth at LB or experience at DE or injuries will not be an issue. Who knows?

I don't. I am hoping for and expecting a season where we compete for an SEC Championship and a playoff berth.

Same as I was last year and the year before.

I get where you are coming from on the QB. But I think people are excited because of what Harris' potential is if he approaches Jennings in knowledge of the offense. In 2-3 quarters, Harris looked better then Jennings has ever looked in P&G. Now, I know what people will say to that. At Auburn, Harris also looked as horrible as a QB can look. But what I will say, in his defense, Jennings looked no better when he got in. Only difference was Jennings knew the plays.

Harris's potential gives LSU the opportunity to be more multiple, more explosive and more productive. Yes we will have some negative plays, but Jennings had negative plays but had no ability to combat those zero or negatives with greatness. Harris can force teams to not stack the box, which helps the O-line and running backs. He is just better. The only thing that kept Jennings ahead was his knowledge of the playbook and experience. If Harris has buttoned up those things, he is a major upgrade at the QB position.

Mett's inability to run was his crutch.

In 2013 he had the 2nd best passing season in lsu history.

Their new qb is a beast and is better than Marshall.

Not necessarily. Nick Marshall burned a lot of people with his running and I think he was the leading rusher or second on team two seasons ago. This guy does not like to run and get hit. Supposed to be a very good passer.

The catch is that Auburn is a running team and Malzahn's success has come with running QB's - not throwing QB's. His team is not built to be a pass happy team. He is going to have to run the ball if he wants to shine on Malzahn's team

He is 6'5 235lbs. No qb "likes"to get hit.

That's not true. The spread that Malzahn runs can and has taken advantage of a qbs passing ability.

Not true. There are numerous spread offense's with a pass first qb. Also,Jeremy Johnson is athletic as hell.just because he is listed as a pro style qb doesn't mean he can't run as well. He can tuck the ball and run and that's all you need to keep the defense honest during the zone read.

Jeremy Johnson runs the fastest 40 time of any Malzahn qb, ever. stop making him out to be slower and less athletic than Marshall

I think is very possible, but just cannot help thinking that LSU will again shoot itself in the foot and lose a critical game(or two) that it really should have won...

Harris' potential
This is what it all hinges on. I said it after watching him last year - when the switch flips, and it will, look out. Things are coming together just right. Harris was like a young puppy in training - signs of greatness but not quite able to put all the pieces together. A year later and he's matured, been given confidence by most of the fan base, and now is in the driver's seat. This is what he came here for, and he's about to blow it up. Add in Buga, Williams, and Guice; then scorch 'em with our WR speed, and teams could be playing catch up by halftime.
I almost feel sorry for McNeese.

Damn right I'm a sunshine pumper. Best way to be a fan IMO.
