Not a rivalry, just a regular SECW game. They are a good squad with a good coach.

A&M is our rival as much as we are Bamas.

this is about to start turning into a legit rivalry I think. Jimbo seems to have them in the right direction in my opinion

ETA: not saying that they'll be a championship football program (although I wouldn't be shocked), but they'll start beating us every couple years (maybe this week) to remind us that we should've sacked up and payed Jimbo whatever he wanted. Not even mentioning that they'll eventually be a more talented team than they are now once Jimbo gets a few recruiting cycles under his belt.

People on here will disagree it’s true though. It’s really as natural as it gets for a rivalry. Geography, fan bases interaction, same division etc. If the game ever had real implications, it could be a legit rivalry. I’d like for it to become a rivalry because A&M fans are everywhere. Houston feels like 70/30 A&M/LSU.

Forced rivalry.

More hatred for Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Florida.

Heck I hate Arkansas more than the little brother Aggies.

A+M used to be our pretty big rival. I remember growing up to Aggie jokes and honestly thought that all aggies were morons even though I didn't even know what an aggie was as a kid.

Currently, they have a lot of ground to make up before they can be considered our Rival.

We are their Alabama for sure. They still talk a lot of shite though, kinda like our fanbase actually. Lol! I never liked playing on Thanksgiving.

Where the frick does this shite come from? What have they done that says “Jimbo has them in the right direction”? I’ve watched them play and I’m sorry but I’m not impressed.

Jimbo is a fraud. Look at what he left at FSU.

As long as LSU doesn't have to play on Thanksgiving or the Friday after, I'm good with leaving the game where it is on the schedule.

Correctly stated. LSU is not Alabama's rival. Auburn is there #1 rival, always has been and always will. In-state SEC Western opponent. LSU is not even a border rivalry since obviously, LA and AL do not share a border. While it is not currently being seen as a rival game, historically TENN is Alabama's next rival. But that game to me is no different than LSU vs. Florida, or LSU vs. Auburn in terms of modern rival games

The best rivalry games in the SEC, in my view are 1) AL/Auburn, 2)UGA/Auburn, 3)UGA/Florida. You can toss a bunch of other games 4 to 10 and not have a penny worth of difference.

LSU and Texas A&M over the next 10 to 20 years has the best chance to develop into an LSU rival game. Something of the order LSU has not had since the 1930 to 1970's era with Tulane and Ole Miss, neither of which will ever return to the rivalry status of those years.

Let's not forget outside of our own state where our biggest recruiting base is. And you better believe jimbo and Herman will dog fight with is over that.

Arkansas rivalry was forced.

This was team we played from 86 thru 95.

This WILL become a rivalry. The old schoolers will back me up on this.

No rivalry.

TXAM doesn't even have the SEC swag anymore to play the College Station game on Thanksgiving night.

He went out and hired a competent defensive coordinator. They have a very tough defense against the run, unlike in years past.
