And let’s not forget that we sucked a majority of the 90s. And some of the 80s.
For us to rank 12th in all time wins with that in mind is pretty crazy.

Exactly. We were largely irrelevant for like 15 years
And we're still that much better than Ole Miss. The sooner they realize that the better

Something else on this, once you take Lane Kiffin's tenure out their win percentage decreases from .557 to .545
Not a loss at all though if you ask them

What's surprising is how well they've held up relative to other programs
They're obviously not blue blood material but they're not exactly pathetic either

Can someone dumb down LSU increase from 13 to 8 in claimed v. Recognized national championship? I'm a little lost here

We're 8th in the country with 5 officially recognized titles
We're 13th in claimed. We only claim 4/5 of our recognized titles
The discrepancy is due to schools like Auburn claiming 9 titles when in reality they only have 2 recognized.

Okay, that's pretty simple and I figured it was something like that. Just couldn't wrap my head around it on the graphic

Still the greatest myth about ole miss claiming 3 national championships. Complete frauds

LSU has been in a competitive conference since its inception. Schools like Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas benefitted from being in weak conferences they dominated.
Often, Nebraska vs. Oklahoma at the end of the Big 8 season was one of only 2-3 "tough" games on their schedules. How is Nebraska doing now that they are in the Big 10? Time will tell on OU and Texas.
All that to say, All Time wins and percentage wins is a little misleading, and being near #10 on those lists for any SEC team is outstanding.

The second question Lane got today was basically a hit that started out as very positive as Lane made light of during his answer. That guy should see this OP with graphics. Then he would understand why Lane became a Tiger.
I truly believe Lane was advised by non other than THE GOAT Coach Nick Saban to take the LSU job.
Geaux Tigers

Ole Miss has zero natties…

Have they?
Prior to Kiffin's arrival in 2020, OM had only nine (9) seasons between 1979 - 2019 (40 years) where they had a winning record in SEC play.
Of the original 10 members of the SEC who are still in the league, Ole Miss only has a better historic winning % than Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi St. (not exactly a who's-who of college football powers).
The 5 straight non-losing conf. seasons OM had between 2021-2025 (they were .500 in '21) was the first time the program accomplished that since 1967-1971
The most positive thing once can say about Ole Miss is that the program is the "best" of the SEC bottom-feeders that, until Kiffin, occasionally had a good season or two, but could never sustain it.
THAT is why their fans are furious about Kiffin leaving. While it may not be this year, inside they know where the program is heading soon...back to the kids' table with Kentucky, Vandy, and MSU.
What LSU did was an all-time bully move. Just when the class nerd was about to be named Homecoming King for the first time in decades LSU walked in and stole his girlfriend.

quote:The GOB network kept us down for decades, as well as Johnny Vaught refusing to recruit black players until the 70s. Along with stupid rednecks waving confederate flags in the stands and the 62 riots. Brewer was the only coach we had after Vaught that could politic and coach football well enough to make us competitive.
What's surprising is how well they've held up relative to other programs They're obviously not blue blood material but they're not exactly pathetic either
Coach O even though he sucked as an on the field coach is the reason our program has such a solid foundation. He brought us out of the dark ages in regards to recruiting and getting everyone on the same page.
Now we finally have an AD that has the balls to tell the boosters “get on board or get the frick off”. Obviously we aren’t elite but we are in the best position we’ve ever been in as an AD in probably our history at the moment.

Do we need to realize that relative to Alabama?

Now do since the year 2000

Ole Miss fans easily forget that they’re more on South Carolina’s caliber than LSU’s.
Every fan base has their faults but ole miss fans have always thought they were better than they actually are. I guess it’s the super rich heavy Greek life influence. They think since they’re also sec, dress and act like Bama/UGA, that they’re one of them.
