LSU vs Kentucky; by the numbers

Consuming college football media this season has been abhorrent as an LSU fan. There's some serious mob mentality going on when it comes to the perception of this team; a hive-mind of alike takes that drives everyone to the same conclusions over and over.
It's media "pundits" that I enjoy watching from time to time. Josh Pate, Crain & Cone, Brooks Austin, Joel Klatt, etc. Frankly I'm shocked that many fail to recognize the dominance of our offense and defense off of the stat sheet alone.
Total Offense: 3rd
Passing: 13th
Rushing: 15th
3rd Down: 12th
Total Defense: 2nd
Passing: 18th
Rushing: 15th
3rd Down: 9th
With that in mind, you'll listen to game previews that are "shocked" this Kentucky team is a whole 9 point underdog and fall back on LSU's injuries as a reason to believe this will be a nail biter. Kentucky's stat profile:
Total Offense: 54th
3rd Down: 138th (Dead. Last.) (24.5%)
Total Defense: 92nd
3rd Down: 122nd
Frankly, I should expect lazy reporting and predictions on the 4th or 5th most nationally recognized game this week. But beyond LSU being a total mismatch for Kentucky, nobody gives LSU any credit outside of that for *maybe* having the most dominant stat sheet of anybody in the country.
This game is a mismatch in every sense of the word. This game will not be close. LSU will then receive 0 credit for suffocating media darling Will Stein's Kentucky team. And that, I will have to learn to live with.

I think LSU wins by double digits, however you need to correct those stats for opponent strength to get a fair assessment

You're right. Kentucky's wins against Youngstown State, South Alabama, South Carolina, Texas A&M and massive home loss to Alabama are much more impressive than LSU's wins over McNeese, LA Tech, Clemson, Texas A&M, and close road loss to Ole Miss.

LSU wins by at least three scores. Kentucky’s vulnerabilities are LSU’s strengths. They do have that weird magical home field advantage though.

This is why I don’t understand everyone’s fear of this game.
Yes, anything can happen and we can play down to our opponent.
But we absolutely should run them out of the stadium

LSU really played one bad half that led to the loss. They’ve dominated the rest. This weekend changes the narrative. We will win big.

That 3rd down discrepancy is gonna be a big deal.
Makes me feel a lot better about this game actually.
Unless this team always just falls apart on the road we should be just fine.

The Clemson game was our coming out party and everyone wanted to jump on the bandwagon then Kiffin’s return to Ole Miss put a stink on it.
I predict they’re all jumping back on after the arse whooping this weekend

Lazy is using total offense or total defense instead of yards per play to give you are better idea of offensive or defensive efficiency

Honestly, don’t waste time worrying about those knuckleheads. We’ll either keep winning or we won’t.

Lane Kiffin ball with this good of a defense is literally running as many offensive plays as possible. I’m far less concerned with “efficiency” (just means we aren’t as explosive) than I am total output.
