But the bashers...troy, state, no excuses....not the trajectory of the team but only troy and state. You were one.

Yes, there is optimism for the upcoming season which is what this thread was supposed to be all about. Try rereading the OP. For some reason you are making it about Troy. My posts in regard to expectations were about this coming year.

Quality melt.

Ree is better than at least 10 posters in this thread. Most of those 10 deserve a permaban. The rant needs to be cleaned up and out of the filth that post up in here. You know who you are.

Compare LSU and Bama's transfers the past 4 years. We've lost a lot of 5/4 star players to that. But you know this, you just refuse to leave it out.

How about you do it? You are so sure we had WAY more attrition, so why not do the research and post it?

Loading up on lots of high star dbs and striking out on offensive lineman and creating depth at the position has also been a problem. Yes, the rankings look great. But we had/have holes at critical positions- OL and DL.

I love when folks push this narrative without actually doing their research on the subject. “I seent it on thu rant. It mus be troo!”

A pretty fair amount of depth got the hell out of dodge between November, 2016 and August 2017.

Not to mention that miles exclusively recruited DBs and WRs

Playsers like Kendall beckwith, Kwon Alexander, la’el collins, and many , many others, were just figments of our collective imaginations

This is a down year for us. If you expect 10-2, you're a retard with unrealistic expectations.

I swear I'm going to fight the next person that says this to the pain...

Oh look...someone intimating a physical confrontation because of a disagreement on the internet.

Nothing screams "I made my point" more than a physical threat.

Are we the only team that has had attrition? I bet you won't answer my question about what our expectations should be.

A realistic, fair expectation due to the schedule is 8-9 wins. LSU has enough talent to be very good if things break right. But there are a lot of unknowns and the schedule is brutal.

Using 10 wins as a floor is absurd. If LSU wins 10, Ensminger has probably totally outperformed his expectations and the D was probably dominating.

10-2 would be a pleasant surprise, imo.

Les hadn’t had a 6-2 SEC record since 2012 and he got blown out by state in 2014 and also got blown out by Ark and OM also in his last 3 seasons

Orgeron suffered the worst loss in program history to Mississippi State and was the head coach of the first LSU team to ever lose to a sun belt team.

Bigger factors are; injuries, coaching (game preparation/game management) and turnovers.

Good post. Yes, anything less than 10-2 is a failure. That was the standard to which Les was held, so it should be the same for O.

shite post. So when Saban leaves, gumps should continue to expect 12-0 every year?

Can you people get any dumber?!?

Not reading the whole 12 pages, but i hope this post played out like i think it did.

I didn't use 10 wins as the floor. I used 9, with losses to Bama, UGA and Auburn as a toss up. If you disagree, please explain why you think we aren't more talented than the rest of the teams on our schedule.

O said there isn't a doubt in his mind that E is the man for the job. If that's true, our expectations of him should be no different than any other LSU coach. The talent is there.

I know, same with hearing about Miles losing to teams he shouldn’t have.

Good thing for this thread otherwise I’d have never known Les Miles lost to teams that were inferior in talent to his own.

They are factors. I don't know if I would call them bigger factors than the talent on the roster. My OP asked if, based on talent alone, we should expect a 10 win season. Every team has to deal with injuries and turnovers. If you disagree with 10 wins as a reasonable expectation, then why?
