Athletic Department's public statements: "Geez guys, we're really truly deeply concerned about attendance and the fan experience."

Athletic Department after learning about the 11:00 am kick: "Boy those stupid poors are going to be pissed about this! hahahahahaha Hey, did that big check from Daddy Warbucks cash?"

No it doesn't. LSU has played these games at night damn near every year even when we're ranked high. The higher frequency of CBS (top tier) games is what comes with the success. This is due to Alabamas complaining and directly pointing at us.

See the tweet someone posted. They didn’t just complain about their own 11 am kicks. They also complained about LSU in particular getting to play at night.

It was a targeted attempt to get us to fill some 11 am slots so they don’t have to. And it worked.

Saban? You really think Saban is concerned about when LSU plays fricking Utah State? Saban isn’t even thinking of LSU yet and won’t until game week despite some of yalls fantasy of Saban being obsessed with LSU. LSU has been one of his easier victories lately unfortunately.

Alabama literally released an official statement complaining that other SEC teams weren't playing enough day games against out-of-conference opponents.

The entire complaint is literally that other top SEC teams (such as LSU) were not playing enough early kickoffs against lesser opponents (such as Utah State).

NCAA changed the rule, or is changing it. And since we're paying Utah State, we will have written our jersey color and/or choice into the contract.

Not for nonconference games. They need approval from the visiting team prior to the first game of the season. I'm pretty sure LSU intended this game to be a dark jersey game (presumably at nighttime) and never sought approval.

so out of all of the games that could be put at 11 am, it's Bama's fault that LSU is the game that got picked for it? You're paranoid.

Fault? No

Doing? frick yes.

Are you kidding?

Are you not looking at things to just not look?

you have a better shot at drawing a rating with a Heisman contending QB on at 11am with less competition than 6pm against better games. These guys are driven by money, not trying to stick it to LSU.

No one is watching Troy vs Mizzou

They just want LSU in featured games right now because of our offense and national exposure. Not sure how this is a bad thing, if no one gives a f, they let u play at night on the alternative channel.

ESPN/CBS would get better ratings with Bama/UF, too...but SEC isn't worried about those "traditions".

So Troy at Missouri gets the 4:00 PM time slot on SECN, while a top 5 team gets relegated to a noon start.

Makes zero sense, until you consider that Bama's whining likely dictated this outcome.

2 weeks ago after Bama's game against Southern Miss got picked up for 11 am, Bama's AD put out a statement whining about an inequitable schedule that had Bama playing a disproportionate amount of 11 am games while "certain" teams never play 11 am home games. Then by sheer coincidence, our next home game is picked up for the 11 am slot, making it the first non conference day game in 11 years. It's clear the SEC is placating Bama's whining.

Typical Gump BS. They piss and moan about our night games, but they essentially hold the entire conference hostage because of their precious "traditional rivalry" game with Tennessee.

Then LSU would be on ESPN following the lead in from Gameday. Not the regional network.

having a team from Utah have to travel 1,000 miles and play a day game in early October in Baton Rouge might be an advantage for us.

Not nit picking, but I dont think we need any additional advantages.

I honestly don't know the TV set up any longer. I know it used to be that CBS had first choice, then ESPN, then it fell beyond that.

Since this would obviously not be the CBS game, why would ESPN pass on having a Heisman candidate on at 6PM nationally? How did the SECN grab this one?
