Build a new natatorium, one with amenities for all the students and swimmers, like the one at Texas am, or the one at Georgia, ...or the one at Auburn.... or the one at Missouri...or the one at Auburn.... or the one they are getting ready to build at Alabama.

Is this the actual amount LSU will be receiving? The linked article says that the average is 40.4 per school.

And a few people here are still under the impression Alleva is some kind of a miracle worker for running a profitable department.

your hyperbole stinks of shallow thinking. alleva isn't near as bad of an AD as is depicted by some on here. no one has portrayed him as a "miracle worker" but he has done a solid job with the departments finances and other administrative areas. yes, he hired johnny jones and it hasn't worked out but at the time it seemed like a good idea and jones started off recruiting very well. i'm glad I don't have to hire a HC for LSU basketball and you should be glad you don't either. LSU is more than a tough place to coach roundball, esp with the state of the sport in college today. the teams up north have a tremendous advantage in recruiting and the southern teams have the AAU backing. we are basically left with the leftovers and basically white kids aren't allowed to play basketball in the deep south so we have no pool of the largest race to draw from.

but my point is alleva is pretty good; a damn site better than joe dean was.

Yet the SEC's officials, head offices are located in Birmingham Alabama. Common sense illustrates that Alabama is likely receiving substantially greater revenues than LSU in this regard and the $$ is under the table in all probability. Add to this the SEC referees & their history with LSU...Oh and yes finally this: that an unprecedented number of shots at the national title has been forthcoming for Alabama (even if LSU gets in to a national title match it will likely be once only if at all & a loss). I base this belief on the past history of the SEC CONFERENCE as relates to LSU, the gumps reputation & influence which I say they'll use to impede LSU in any and every way possible, and corrupt Las Vegas who fix games especially if they are inclined to play favorites. I submit the position and it will come to pass that Alabama will use its influence to see to it that the Tigers will lose any title match they are a participant in)

IN CONCLUSION:
I say it is not enough money to sway my opinion of the SEC CONFERENCE.... it certainly is not too much money "they just pay em off":
