1992 season opener against tamu in the daytime was the hottest I’ve ever been in my life which includes the Grand Canyon in early August.

That year, there was only one Division 1 football program with a worse record than LSU. That would be Navy, with a record of 0-11.

I'm thinking Curley is a good honorable man. You?

His resume was almost literally that Brett Favre beat FSU.
Also beat BAMA and Auburn.

I was there for the '93 Ole Piss game. I'll admit that the crowd was on fire during the cold arse game.

We used to roll up in the late afternoon and very rarely ever had to park farther than the French House. We often found spots in that lot behind the union.

Let's not forget that Farve was recruited Southern Miss as safety and really only because his dad was a local HS coach. It's not like Hallman found him as a diamond in the rough. He lucked into him as a QB.

This post title pissed me off before I opened it. Well done.
The 25,000 attendance thing is an exaggeration of how many people showed up to games. An 80,000 seat stadium usually started with 55-75,000 people in those days.

That arky team was super bad. It was a slam dunk. Nope!
41-19 or something like that.

Was in the FQ getting hammered........saw some former teammates that night down there. It was somber.

Was pretty electric, great game. It is the only time in my life , except for maybe 2001, that it felt like Ole Miss was our top rival and was on our level.

don't know how Curley did it but amazingly he was 3-1 against the people we play tomorrow.
The only constant that in those days was that we’d beat State, and Tulane. We beat a couple State teams that should have been much better than us in those few years

They weren't "super bad" so to speak. But they weren't good either. They came into the game 4-5-1 with only 1 win (and 1 tie) in their prior 5 games. LSU was actually on a shocking "roll" having won 3 straight, including the huge upset @ Bama. LSU was the favorite...and got blasted 42-24. It was the most points Ark. scored all year

I saw Curley Hallman buy a pack of Zig-Zags at Northgate Seafood and Liquor once.

I still think we owe Hallman and Dinardo a debt of gratitude. The two of them were so freaking awful that it finally motivated LSU to get serious and pony up the big bucks to get a real coach, and Nick was indeed a damn good coach.
