stupid idea imo

No way will I ever wear pink to tiger stadium, this is so stupid. I do support any kind of cancer but come on breast cancer is getting so overkilled.

I like that everyone has been reasonable in replies to those who do not like the pink gear in football games. I remember saying something similar on here the first year the NFL did it and I got blasted as an insensitive prick who loves breast cancer and sent several curses from people saying that my loved ones were all going to get cancer...

So, you support a “pink” game based on this brilliant link of one of the traditional LSU colors to the pink “hey, look how much I care” ribbons?
Purple is blue + red, a combination of two primary colors.
Pink is red + white, a tint of a single primary color.
Titty-pink is just not appropriate for LSU football uniforms or fans.

Buy a pink ribbon for $1 and wear it?
Have a text donation thing announced several times throughout the game
Exactly
I've never known a disease to be cured simply by wearing pink, blue, green, etc. I think the researchers would rather people contribute to the fight with monetary donations rather than 90,000 people wearing a t-shirt to show that they support the fight against cancer.
I'm against hunger in Africa and I showed my support by wearing brown loafers to work. I did my part.

would be ok with a $1 for a pink ribbon and the texting thing but if everyone wore pink on national television, we would be the laughing stock of college football, even if it was for an amazing cause...just not a good idea.

We cant even get 75% to wear gold for the Gold game of the year. I'm guessing it'll be 35% pink, purple, gold, white, gray, etc...

i vote for a breast awareness game.

I just don't understand how wearing a pink article of clothing is gonna fight towards breast cancer. Also this will never work for the fans. No one is going buy a pink shirt that they will never wear again. If they put pink shirts in all the seats, it'll cost the school a fortune and people "might" put them on, but most will use them as sweat rags.
They would be better off selling ribbons at the gate for $1. At least they would have cash to actually put towards fighting the disease.

just have a walk or something...this is getting out of hand...btw, i don't want a George Washington tribute game either...this is football, people. And i don't care what the NFL got politically pressure into...

This will never happen.
Fact.
Fact.

No. This has all gone too far.
There is a time and place for everything, and what's appropriate for sport is different from what is appropriate elsewhere.
While charities of ALL kinds are worthy and deserve our support, no one charity deserves more attention than any other, particularly if it is otherwise unrelated to the LSU community as a whole.
Back in 2005 when we placed an emphasis on the games as a rallying point for hurricane relief, that was understandable. There were LSU students in danger of not returning to college, and they needed assistance. The cause was related to the university itself.
But breast cancer research is simply one among many causes that deserve our support. Why should we as a university community show more preference to that particular health care issue over say, epilepsy research, or lung cancer research? How about substance abuse prevention? Surely, that is as relevant an issue to LSU as breast cancer research is. Why not a game where we all wear camo to support coastal restoration? At least that affects everyone in Louisiana.
While it is a good thing for people to give to charitable organizations, these organizations should not have cause to presume that they can use a sporting event, otherwise unrelated to their cause, for free publicity.
The game exists for the game itself, not as a platform for unrelated causes to raise awareness of their agenda.
If we say yes to one of these organizations, we have no consistent reason to say no to the others who will surely follow. Where do you draw the line? Why show preference to one over the other?

People wear purple or gold.
Even a "white out" is gay as hell.

For a good cause, I would proudly wear a pink LSU shirt to the game. I'm secure in my masculinity. Who frickin' cares, if it is in the name of charity?

Does it count if I have a couple of pair of pink underwear after washing them with a red t-shirt.
