Your right, because clearly $650/year is not enough to pay for the gameday experience. Lets add a good $300 to that.

TECHNICALLY I don't park in a lot or on the street. It's a little driveway.

Because the idea of paying to park implies you're getting some advantage, like parking close to the stadium.
You aren't getting that by parking in those lots.
You aren't getting that by parking in those lots.

You still didn't answer my question. Why shouldn't you have to pay to park in those areas?

I have no problem paying to park... but $40 per game is fricking ridiculous.

It's a Parking Tax!!! Where is the Tea Party when you need them?
Posted on 11/17/10 at 8:25 am to DBG
No, because you're not paying nearly as much as those lots closer to stadium.

I don't park there, but it will still affect me. Because those lines to get into those lots, will interfere with my plans to get to my spot. More people will be parking on streets, and anyplace they can find and will cause traffic to come to a grinding halt.
We'll have to wait and see how LSU handles it. Bitch after the first game next year if it creates a huge problem.

Not if you carpool with 3 other people.
Posted on 11/17/10 at 8:26 am to GeorgeTheGreek
$90 to park my trailer and car is unacceptable.

This.

Then whats the cutoff? Paying to even step foot on campus? $10 fee to drive your vehicle through campus? And like terd said, the amount is ridiculous too
Posted on 11/17/10 at 8:26 am to bbap
I agree that the trailer charge is way too hefty.
Posted on 11/17/10 at 8:29 am to DBG
They aren't gonna charge for those things so that's a dumb argument .... but just because something has been free forever, and it's changed .... doesn't make you right and the university wrong. Why do you feel like it should be free? Why should the university give free parking to people when they can profit from it? How is that good business?

OF COURSE, NOBODYYYYYY LEAVES TRASH WHERE THEY TAILGATE!!!
I can tell you our tailgating spot is as clean as when we found it after we leave.
I have no clue how you can support this unless you rarely go to games. This is being done in the middle of a serious downturn in the economy and totally takes the blue collar, middle class, true-blue LSU fan out the equation.
I don't want to hear any bitching on how lame Tiger Stadium is now becuase it will be only full of of corporate tickets and those who have no real passion for LSU, just going cause it is "cool" to go.
This is a horrible idea and will impact them in such little ways that the negative ways the positves out by tons.

They thought that here too. This might be next

I did answer your question, because i'm already paying out of my arse for tickets. And the notion of paying $40 per game to park is a deterrent to others that just want to tailgate and have a good time. I'm sure your old and hate "these damn kids" and their talking picture boxes and the MTV, but i personally love the tailgate atmosphere we have here at LSU. Its one of the reasons we are recognized as a big time school.
and this will kill that atmosphere

Didn't think they would charge to park a mile from the stadium either...and while those are exaggerations, paying to tailgate isn't, that looks like a possibility, is that cool too?
And yea, they'll make money, but they'll also create a lot of problems and alienate a lot of people. Guess that doesn't mean anything though.

Dude, this cat making the "for" argument probably watches all the LSU games on TV. He's a Michigan State fan. This is adding the price of another ticket or TAF/Traditional funds dues (which went up each of the last three years to 1.5 more than they used to be) to the equation. How is that right? This is going to turn into a cluster frick and we should flood LSU with our opinions on this.
