Do you understand that LSU revenue and LSU ATHLETIC Department revenue are two separate pots of money?

This would be LSU Athletic Department revenue, not exactly the entity of the two that needs it.

Paying for bathrooms is more ridiculous than the outrageous price for parking.

How about having a university employee drive around campus selling bags of ice?

Ole Miss sells platters of food in the Grove.

Considering the plan is to stop charging 3 hours before hand, yes.

So much for their emails reminding people to arrive early and tailgate!

You have to pay to play. What LSU is doing is no different from dozens of other schools across the country. Revenue is revenue and as long as LSU wins people will come.

They are supposedly going to build new permanent restrooms with the increase in funding because of parking.

Sounds bizarre.......so you will be walking around campus on a spring day and up from nowhere you walk right into the john?

We have been playing for 7 years now. LSU Athletics isn't losing any money.

They are using the "budget cuts" as a scapegoat to make people feel "better" about it.

Great, then LSU Athletics can give some of the extra revenue to the academic side of things. I think it would be great if LSU FB helped pay for more library books and more professors and scholarships. Don't you?

Why? Would you rather have people pay $10 for an all-day bathroom pass, or $40 to park?

Hell, the women that tailgate with us absolutely despise the port-o-lets....the university could make a fair dollar for letting people use nicer/cleaner facilities.

They already do.

And I donate to TAF to support the athletic program and I donate to the LSU Foundation to support the academic program.

And raising tuition and capping tops at a flat rate would be a start to eliminating the budget cuts.

They will be build restrooms similar to what is outside the west stadium lot now.

Restrooms to be built near the old golf course, hayfield lot, vet school lot, etc..

I recall someone riding around in a truck at Auburn selling ice, can't remember if it was a university employee or not.

LSU has always been a unique place, and they are doing a great job of making it just like everywhere else, which is a bad thing.

Glad to see the $40 for me to tailgate on the Parade Ground is going to good use since the nearest new bathroom will be 3/4 a mile from me.

No. I'd like the University to learn on its own how to produce a quality product for the right price and trimming the fat.

The Athletic Department seems to have this under control.

I'll still pay it because LSU doesn't give any other choice, but damn, the game by game price is insane. My mom, who is in her late 60's usually drives to our tailgate to be with her two sons because me and my brother live out of town, so it's really the only time she sees us during football season. Now she will be charged just to come hang out with us. My brother and I will cover it along with our parking costs, but still, it's so unfortunate, and I know without a doubt there are alot of similar stories like this that will be affected.

Ok, say they give more, and help the academic side out a little. Once this state budget crisis gets resolved, and the academic side is on solid ground again, will the athletic department quit charging us to park on campus for football games to "help out with the budget crisis?"

LSU is looking to gain nearly 1M per game as a result of the new parking regs.

My conservative estimates:

15,000 spots at $20 = $300,000
10,000 spots at $40 = $400,000
1,000 trailers at $50 = $50,000
