Several have covered it by now, I guess, but I think these three need some strong consideration:
David LaFleur
Richard Dickson
Foster Moreau

Foster Moreau

It has to be Foster Moreau. He has already been the most productive NFL tight end to come from LSU.

Thaddeus Moss? You kidding me?
Moreau is absolutely above him.

Clearly. Doesn’t mean you can’t do some research.

David Lafleur. End of convo.

Foster Moreau may be the most underutilized player in LSU history.

dude that list is horrible.
the last 2 dont belong on any all time list. and as much as i love moss, he is about 3rd at best.
LaFluer would be #1 imo. he was all american, offensive mvp his senior year. best blocking TE in the nation on top of being a pass catching TE. reason why he was a 1st round pick.
My list
#1 David Lafleur
#2 Brian Kichen
#3 Thad Moss
#4 Richard Dickson
#5 Robert Royal
foster, nicky savoie, david jones, Gus Tinslet and Billy Truax would round out my top 10.

I’ll slip this little fact in here. Billy Cannon was moved to TE in 1967 by the Oakland Raiders. He led the AFL TE’s in yards and tds, and was named All-AFL. Yes, that Billy Cannon.
So, I guess he would be the only LSU player to be selected as an All League TE.

Moreau did a lot of stuff that didn’t come up on the stat sheet. He was a hell of a leader.

All you youngsters need to Google a guy named Billy Truax. Played 9 years in NFL and one of the best to every play the position out of Holy Cross HIgh School in New Orleans.

Ken Kavanaugh was All-Pro 1946-48 with the Bears. He also led the league in receiving TDs twice.

True. Moss was a better receiver, but Moreau was a good receiver in his own right. And Moreau was a dominant blocker, whose LSU coaches considered flipping to tackle.
