My own little way of initial protest.

I'm sure many here will hate it, some will love it, and most could care less

people said the same shite back when they put the black posts up around campus. "Oh they are going to block off tailgating spots. They don't want us on campus"

They said the same crap, even mores so, when they started the Trad Fund.

They said the same thing when they started charging to park in the Ceba lot.

You are talking about $20 to park. Limits traffic and encourages carpool. Plus assists in the Budget for the cleanup.

Yeah, it will not change tailgating in ANY way.

if $92,600 per game is not enough for cleanup ($1/ticket goes to cleanup costs) then they need to privitize

$140 and $280, depending on spot....also add in $350 if you want to park a utility trailer, and all of this for spots that are not guaranteed

in a stumbling economic climate, i think it will most definitely change tailgating, and not for the better

I hear ya, the new policy is going to screw up our TG too. Lots of families that would venture out with the family will now stay home. I raised my kids tailgating.

I already pay that to park.

Just park off of campus and walk. Whatever you do, please stop whining.

yeah, because that is completely different than what I said, meaning $20 a game. Sorry I wasn't specific. I assumed some level of common sense. For the record, you are still not even close to what people pay to park way out in CEBA.

Guarantee you, next year, there will be no change in the tailgating. Maybe fewer cars because people will carpool more, which is not a bad thing. People said the same shite when they started charging for the CEBA, and other lots close to the stadium (Locket, Indian Mounds area). Hasn't affected tailgating one bit.

$20 a game is what you are going to pay at most major sporting events. This has been an untapped source of revenue at LSU for a long time. They really can't jack with ticket prices right now. It was bound to happen.

I do agree that one nightmare will be not having the spots RESERVED. That may be a cluster the first big game that they have next year.

and your spot is guaranteed and reserved for the season. these new spots, as of now, are neither reserved nor guaranteed. also, in no way does LSU state that they will refund customers if parking is not available.

show me how much is available within a mile of campus that isnt going to be pay next season

I would imagine that they'll close the lot when its full. It isn't like trying understand quantum physics.

How many of those spots are a mile away from the stadium?

LSU is charging 40 for the areas other charge 20 for and 20 for areas that nobody charges for.

I can go to a Saints game and pay 20 to park in the dome.

If I want to walk a mile to the stadium its FREE.

LSU has reserved parking readily available and not just to people that have a high enough TAF rating??? When did this start?

There is no possible way they'll know when the parking is full. This isn't only a lot or lots; they're charging people to park on the public streets too (which is a whole separate issue that I have with this bullshite). The only way to charge people is to have someone standing at the many entrance points collecting money. They will not have anyone keeping track of where people go to park.
