So cops can figure out a beer stealer but still can’t figure out who murdered a co-ed months ago. Awesome.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.
Simple burglary is a felony.
You can be convicted of felony burglary even if you don’t steal anything. But if you enter a place/business/car/home without authorization with the intent to commit a theft therein, it’s felony burglary.
I think we need to call in an expert on what the definition of burglary vs armed burglary vs simple theft. Anybody got Saban's number? He can figure this out easy.

I guess ole Dean Wooten is retired. He would have handled and disciplined this kid very differently. God bless him. There is a long list of knuckleheads from the late 1980s and early 1990s who hold a special place in their heart for Dean Wooten.

In Rigley Field(Chicago) that would only be 2 cases.

Nobody should ever be arrested for stealing beer

No its not. Simply burglary is a misdemeanor.
If the value of the stolen property is $1000 or greater, the charge becomes a felony theft.

Wow! Thanks for posting this, I haven’t heard that name or thought about him in a long time. I worked in his office as a student worker back in the 80’s. Really awesome and kind person, enjoyed the heck out of working there. Your assessment is spot on.

So after all of the previous Tiger Stadium break-in's, nobody in the LSUAD still can't figure out a way to keep people out of there at night. Doesn't seem like a very hard thing to do.

Ditto for Dean French who was the dean of men back in my day. It is a different world we live in today. Alcohol and good judgment don't go together.

TRIGGER WARNING: Rant always on brand. White kid commits felony burglary and its "He's so cool, let him off, no big deal I like beer too". Black kid shot in the back by a cop and we get, "Good riddance thug. Shouldn't have run if he did nothing wrong."
