Someone has to take charge on defense. Perkins or weeks idk but a leader has to show up to tip the scales.

I will self-ban if LSU beats Clemson. They have no chance with this O-line. This game will be embarrassing.

A weak secondary becomes an elite secondary when three Dline is mauling the opponent.

How do we prevent that from happening?

It will help the line tremendously Nuss can step up in the pocket and run if necessary

But the roster wasn't good from top to bottom since the mass exodus after 2021.

Last year, Paris Shand led our Dlinemen with 375 snaps. Gio Paez led the DTs in total tackles. Swinson had a good year. Jones was okay. We'll have much better numbers from the DL/Edge this year.

We were also sorely lacking in Secondary Depth.

This year, if we get any contribution from a few of the freshmen, we are 30 deep on defense.

And we have some dogs...Perkins, Weeks, Pyburn, Payton, McKinley, Gooden, Breaux, Guillory, Haulcy, Cooley, Spears...

We haven't had that many potential impact players on one side of the ball since '19.

Our defensive line vs Clemson's offensive line is the matchup to watch. If we can create pressure and own the line of scrimmage to make Clemson 1-dimensional then I really like our chances.

Offensively the running game is going to be the X-factor. Same with last year against South Carolina when we were able to run the ball in the second half it greatly limited their pass rush because they couldn't just rush up field after Nuss. We need to establish the run game enough to keep that pass rush honest.

We supposedly had better rosters than them if you asked anyone here at the time. We had one of the best offenses in the game in 2023, so what teh hell happened?

I'll give you a hint, it starts with a B

defense might have to keep us in the game until the offense gets their legs under them. meaning the oline improves enough for nuss to get some long balls off. and i'm assuming he'll be accurate.

college football - you never really know what you have until midway into the season.

Sloan did a full session yesterday on running creative screens. Reports were 7-8 different variations. Hopefully this is something we see vs Clemson
Link?

Was he talking about receiver screens or RB screens?

You need to come on the board and start a thread apologizing for your ignorance and announcing your self-ban for the remainder of the season.

because we are going to possess the ball last and our PK is going to center cut it from 35 yards.

The Defense returns to traditional "Lights Out Kick arse" LSU Defense and Joe Sloan runs Da Joe Brady Offense which hides the OL shite show and allows the Offense to score enough points to win the game.

If this doesn't materialize into reality, we should all be some very disappointed and supremely pissed off LSU fans.

No more Excuses!

Only real question is can the O-line perform above average. They don’t need to win every rep, just be consistent and disciplined enough to keep the offense on schedule

I actually think the OL can be really good, provided Kelly doesn't tinker around with it too much. Moving Chester all over the place. Curne is getting some first team snaps. We'll see if that holds.

Yep that is probably the best take, Clemson is like 110-12 at home. LSU will not make it 13 losses. Give the points and make some money.
