I can confirm that everything in the above-quoted post checks out.

I wanted to see a baseball game today, but as some have already stated this may have been the best outcome from a pitching rotation standpoint.

Yesterday's win was just pure grit and I feel lucky to have been able to watch.

Edited to add: take a moment and peruse the SEC Rant this afternoon...

Exactly. USCe knew about this, and could have scheduled a Thursday doubleheader if they really wanted to get all the games in.

First of all the Thursday game had a rain delay as well and they can’t just schedule a DH on the fly and LSU just show up. Does the team trsvel the day before? This isn’t you deciding to go to dinner at 530 instead of 630.

So refusing to schedule another game Friday evening even with a clear forecast & instead rescheduling Game 3 to Saturday KNOWING the forecast wouldn’t allow for a game…..isn’t “purposely dodging” then what is?

Even though we knew about this since Tuesday, I don't know LSU's travel plans, so I'll give you this much. But I was at the stadium yesterday, and we all knew that either we play game 3 that night, or we don't play it at all. At 5:30 PM, they announce that game 3 is postponed until Saturday, then at 9:00 AM Saturday, say "It'll rain all day, so we're cancelling the game." You don't see any issues with that?

Sounds like neither coach really wanted to play 2 games Thursday. Still think they called off game 3 way too quick yesterday esp silly knowing the forecast for today.

I disagree. The game could've been played after game 2 (it didn't end until around 1:30 central) but instead they chose to see how the weather will look the following day when it had been known that the weather will more than likely deteriorate the following day. It definitely was a factor into their decision.

They have access to doppler radar and all that just like you or I or anyone else does. Instead of playing it an hour or so after game 2, the decision was made to wait until the next day when it's been known that the weather will more that likely get worse. That forecast has been out for days.

Why not play a couple hours after game 2 after that thunderstorm passed by Columbia? That was the reason they put off making a decision. That one thunderstorm. The tarp was already brought out, if I remember correctly. There was plenty of time to have the game after it went by. It wasn't like the first pitch would have been at 10 o'clock at night.

The Florida/Tennessee game took place today with rain. Not a torrential downpour but it rained for most of the game, if not all of it. Just no lightning.

USCe could've done the same thing and Friday night there was no rain after that one thunderstorm went by Columbia. Doppler radar and all that. The opportunity to play the game was there. They chose to not do that and wait until the following day when it had been known that the weather would more than likely deteriorate.

Making their decision doesn't hurt or help them just like it doesn't hurt or help LSU. It's a split series.

But there definitely was more than enough time to have game three on Friday night.
