What happens when you lose National seed in Game 1 of the SEC tournament.

That bracket is such a clusterfrick. I don't think the national seed was dependent on how we did vs Ole Miss. Alabama at #5 came out of left field, with Washington at #7 not far behind.

Washington at least has a record and poll rankings that could justify Top 8. That didn’t surprise me. Bama has neither the record nor the rankings to support their position. They don’t even have conference rank. Add in the questions about Fouts’ health and that pick makes zero sense.

I have strong negative feelings (Hate) against Louisville at Lafayette, but would not mind seeing the Ramblin Acadians kicking Lame Duck Torina and send her packing.

There's a "Softball "Mulkey" out there that SW is going to hire for Big Bucks to bring in here and get this thing at a Championship level.

Mediocrity does not belong in any athletic program at the University of Louisiana State University......

We should be in a game three for the supers but not sure why anyone would have any concrete expectations

Lsu isn’t particularly bad at anything but certainly not elite at anything either. When you don’t have anything to heavily lean on you’re kind of just a wildcard

You keep hoping they’ll get hot in the postseason. SW won’t keep ignoring forever that Beth’s ceiling is traveling to and losing a Super Regional, but I think softball is on his back burner for now. Woodward is likely thinking, “let me observe this program for a couple seasons after Texas and Oklahoma come aboard and see if there is further slippage.”

I agree this has been the recent trend and it shouldn’t be accepted as the norm indefinitely, but it obviously wasn’t always the case under Torina. In the first half of her time at LSU, her teams regularly overachieved in the postseason. She clearly knows how to get the most out of her teams in the NCAA tournament. The question is why that hasn’t been the case the last 4 seasons and whether she can recapture the spark that made her so successful before that.

Teams do get hot in the post season but 99 percent of them are already hot before postseason and continue to play well. Teams usually just don’t miraculously start playing well when postseason starts.

If the LSU team that swept Georgia on the final day of the regular season shows up, they are capable of getting to OKC.

If the little-league team that played Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament shows up, they won't get out of the regional.

USL looks real excited to cross the Atachafalya Spillway... lol

They’re so far removed from reality it’s pathetic. They fail to understand that this isn’t just about records. It’s about conferences, media familiarity, the facilities for the players fans and media visiting. Run a survey I can guarantee that majority of the media loves any excuse to go to BR. The first class facilities, hospitality and not to mention the food. Oh also the accessibility to BR from NOLA (major airport) plays a factor in this.

LSU will always be strongly considered for these variables. Tough shite ULL. LSU has a massive jump start on the reputation. ULL needs a Boone Pickens.

No one (including the players) thinks we should be hosting instead of LSU, but rather along with LSU.

Also, according to the committee it came down to Top 10/25 wins. Not conference/media familiarity/facilities.

Lastly, in the softball world UL has the massive jump start on "the reputation." LSU softball didn't arrive on the scene until they hired Coach Girouard away from us in 2000.

Weird because ULL and LSU have the same exact number of WCWS appearances..

Gasso says she's coming to LSU after the Sooners win the WCWS.

Scott aint fooling around.

She's getting the Big Bucks and "Movin on Up" to LSU a la Mulkey.

$$$$$$ talks and SW shoveling it out to get the best HC's in here. (Basketball too in a few years after the transition and sanctions are over and done with)

She’s making $1.6M at Oklahoma. Torina makes $430K. I’d love to see it, but it isn’t happening.

Gasso isn’t coming to lsu

Mulkey hires are exceedingly rare. Mulkey has a lot of connections in the state, had major issues with her former AD which was the perfect storm.

Why would Gasso leave OU making bank at the best program in the country to a state/area which she has zero ties? She is happy and has a dominant machine rolling..

Our first and only candidate should be the Oklahoma State coach, and I think he’ll bite with OSU about to be left behind in the SEC/Big 10 pissing match.

I’d honestly just prefer Beth Torina fire her assistants. I think she’s fine as a pitching coach and the heavener gal seems like the breakthrough she’s needed on the recruiting trail. She and berzon would make quite the tandem that could give us a puncher’s chance against OU…with a well coached hitting team of course.

Why would we wait for things to get worse while we can position ourselves better now?

It’s not like anyone personally hates Dobson and leftwhich, but you can’t just keep your job for over a decade when you’re not getting the job done. There isn’t a single profession that operates like that-especially with the great money these coaches make to coach softball.

I think Woodward pays at least enough attention to see Torina is still a young and promising coach, and he’s not going to shitcan her without doing everything he can to make her adjust.

I want lsu to win every game but I’d rather ULL put the nail in the coffin with these assistants than slip out of Br and lose two 1-0 games to Washington
