I think LSU has a great HC in JJ... but if he thinks LSU is going to go all in on baseball over say, football... well that's just crazy talk.

He never once said or suggested that.

I just wish LSU would give more money to baseball. Don’t like how other schools are investing more than double what we are giving.

The bottom line is we were ranked like 13th in the SEC as far as revenue share to baseball. So 12 other SEC programs were able to give their baseball programs more money than us. Does that make sense to anyone? We have a HOF coach, 2 national championships in the last 3 years but 12 other schools are more dedicated to their baseball than us? Can you see how that must upset Jay. Arkansas I believe was top with 3 million compared to LSU with 400,000. Do you understand what you can buy in baseball with an extra 2.6 million?

I'm not saying Jay needs 3 million because we probably do have more NIL than most universities. Just let Jay compete for recruits on equal footing. If money is equal Jay can usually win the recruiting battles he wants to.

Pretty sure that is what Jay meant by stating he had a very productive meeting with Verge a week or so ago.

People have been saying this forever, just dont see it happening.

And it has been gradually happening as more programs become interested and fanbases get more invested. It will continue to be centered in the South and West, but it will grow because it has a timeframe all to itself after basketball and a very compelling postseason, just like March Madness.

Baseball, while regional, is less regional than another popular secondary sport- men’s hockey. I know that it’s difficult for teams in the Midwest and North to compete, but they DO compete. All but a few major universities have teams while hockey is completely niche and regional.

It’s also proven to be possible for smaller schools like Oregon State and Coastal Carolina to break through and compete at a high level. Southern Miss can’t cut it as a consistent giant killer in football or basketball anymore, but they absolutely can in baseball. That definitely helps to grow the popularity of the sport and fan engagement.

All makes sense except... Our NIL for baseabll probably is significantly more than most SEC schools. So, you can't just make it a rev share argument.

Is there any real data on what each SEC school has for rev share and NIL combined for baseball?

That’s likely because the administration knows they can use NIL to support baseball as needed. But they definitely need to keep Jay happy.

NIL and revenue share are DIFFERENT things.

What we need to compare is ROSTER COST or what we are paying our roster.

I can guarantee you Arkansas does NOT give its baseball program $3 million in revenue share. That would be 15% of their revenue sharing total. Which Arkansas programs are NOT getting anything to facilitate that. They would HAVE to be taking money away from football and MBB.

Maybe we do need to give more to BB but that figure is only part of the picture. NIL and private donations etc. factor in also and we have no idea of where we stand once everything is factored in.

No coach ever said stop giving me more money so all we can do is hope that the people that actually have the total picture make the right decisions.

When did Jay say this?

How are there 50 plus uniformed morons upvoting this comment?? Jay has said multiple times we are behind on rev share.. MS state, the Texas schools, Tennessee are all giving more of their rev share pie to baseball. That’s a joke and should never be the case when you have the best coach in the game. With the skins on the wall now. You need to be up there at the top of the league when it comes to this. Don’t get comfortable.
