Really think the committee factored in strength of schedule specifically OOC when ranking the teams.

That being said, USC OOC improves this week with their game against ND. TCU not so much.

I think the committee realizes it was September and if that game were played today LSU rolls. November is for contenders.

That’s why the committee won’t punish us and turn around reward Michigan, TCU, USC, etc. Had we played their 1st opponent we would have started 1-0 too.

Fans might make it a big deal, but the committee won’t.

You act like FSU hasn't improved since that game. We are a hell of a lot better than when we played y'all in New Orleans. That game was sloppy from FSUs standpoint. The last 4 weeks, now that our team is healthy, we have outscored our opponents by a combined 173-39 and are about to roll the Gators tomorrow as well. By your logic, FSU should be in the Top 10 because when we played Wake and NC State our roster was depleted with injuries especially on the line and we would be favored in those games today. This is why the Playoff Committee is a joke, you can't just ignore a loss and say "well if they play today they would win that game" that's BS, the game was played and you lost.

See y'all in Orlando next Labor Day weekend.

Ok the committee can’t ignore losses, but should LSU beat bama and Georgia the committe should omit that information from their evaluation? Nobody is saying we haven’t lost twice. We are saying our last 12 weeks are as good as anyones. Again assuming we win in a week.

They’re forgiving us for that. It’s the big TN loss and couple close wins that are weighing more.

I haven’t said or even thought anything like this. FSU has improved, but LSU isn’t even the same team as Labor Day. FSU was the better team in September, LSU is the better team now.

Settle down. No one is saying FSU hasn’t improved. You guys have gotten it going against some struggling teams the last few weeks, but they are doing exactly what they should do in those games- dominating. I feel pretty certain you guys will handle UF, as well.

It will be interesting to see who FSU is matched up with in a bowl game and how they play. That could be a really good measuring stick on where they are now. Bama is a good measure, even in an “off year” for them, but our biggest test is in a little over a week.

10-1 vs 9-2 and you're saying being 9-2 is the difference in the committee's eyes?

We better be thankful that when that first playoff ranking came out they put us astonishingly at 10. Most on here thought 13-15.

If y’all absolutely dominate Florida, like 40-13, I’ll give some credit. If the game is 31-29 then y’all aren’t much better or worse than y’all were in September. LSU has changed since the Tennessee game and that’s mostly because our QB now is comfortable in the offense. We would smoke Tennessee if we played them again and I said this right after the Florida game where it all clicked for this offense. I also said that the Florida game would be our catalyst game or our downfall. That was the pivotal week for LSU. Our OL is playing different, our DL is playing together, our LBs are dominating and our secondary is tough. This entire team now knows who they are and that’s huge for a team. I think Florida state has that figured out as well which is why y’all are doing much better but y’all still don’t have the fire power LSU has. This Georgia game will be close and will come down to who wants it more! Who has Georgia played that will bring the fire power and physical play together like LSU will? Tennessee was and still is weak imo. It was time to get exposed and they got exposed. Any physical team they run up against will beat them.

FSU is/was a good team. My point is committee obviously is awarding teams who played difficult OOC opponents.

This was not meant to be a thread saying LSU would’ve beat FSU if… The point is LSU played what was expected to be a tough game right out of the gate. That should be and apparently has been rewarded.

Even if we beat Florida state, we would be ranked exactly where we are right now… still would have to beat UGA to get in..

Y’all do realize that we couldn’t just schedule a rent-a-win? The connection is Hawaii! They get an extra game exemption. So anyone that plays them gets the same for week 0. Duquesne was their week 3 opponent so FSU scheduled Duquesne. The only we could do it was to schedule Hawaii or someone that plays them as a week 0 opponent.

Maybe FSU has improved, but y’all would not beat Ole Miss, Bama, or Tennessee. Y’all are about as good as Mississippi State and Arkansas this year which is not an insult BTW.

LSU could’ve scheduled a rent-a-win in week 1.

LSU would still need to beat Georgia regardless.

FSU is a damn good team, I don’t think it would be an easy game as a rematch
