LSU puts devices in helmets to track speed and activity. They have registered the 2 fastest practices all season in the past week. That’s after 15 games. How about a little praise for Coach Moffitt and his staff. We sure as hell bash them enough.

Jack Marucci is really underappreciated by our fanbase.

Peaking at the perfect time. This was planned all last year and executed to perfection.

Thanks Tommy....

Quick question, is Derek P really the brains behind the great LSU hype videos?

Keep pumping those weights bro...

Most of the guys seem in shape. They were definitely ready this year. That hasnt always been the case though.

Not sure the point of the fastest practice though. Wasnt there a big gripe about the last coach working the players too hard? And O was going to change that?

Miles would have full contact scrimmages during game week.

O lessened the load when he was interim.

In 2017 he tried the light load all off season and the team was totally unprepared and they had to intensify practice.

2018 they changed the entire regime.

2019 made more hires and more improvements.

LSU is now on the cutting edge of sports science

I don't think the coaches asked them go harder and faster in practice. I believe CEO commented on this. They measure the team speed to get a feel for the player's fatigue level.

Not by me. My boys and Jack’s son played ball together and having him and Brent Bankston at all their games meant they had medical care equivalent like they were playing for the Tigers. And in addition to how good he is, there’s never been a nicer guy than Jack.

The fact that they are measuring all these factors is preventing injuries, avoiding overwork and allowing the team to be at top physical condition and speed after a long season.

The real Tigers are ready to roll those Orange cats on Monday night!!

How about the fact that after 14 games Todd Harris is the only major injury to speak of. We have damn near everyone ready to go in the 15th game of the year. That’s amazing.

I did not realize Jack Marucci had such a large role with the team. Can somebody explain a little bit about what he does?

That includes me.

Can you clue me in on Jack a little? Who he is and his impact? I missed this topic evidently.

He’s the head athletic trainer for the team. Really all the rehab and nutrition runs through him. And he works with the strength staff about keeping a good level of training and not exhausting the players. Answers to the coaches about injuries.

How are they measuring this....what metrics are evaluated?

Steps taken per minute of practice averaged over player?

Activity levels recorded over another time interval as a group?

If anyone knows, would love to see how they do this as to what it really means

I know in the past the have mentioned they have accelerometers, etc in the equipment that they take readings from. Based on the past measurements they have mentioned, I think by fast they mean either top end or average speed throughout the practice. Just what I read into it, I don't have insider info.
