Same goes for the “if you don’t like losing it means you want to lose” for the first time in LSU history you’re not allowed to criticize a coach who wins 26% of his conf games. And they claim moral superiority over it lmfao

It really is a case of Stockholm Syndrome. I’ve never seen anything like it.
The post game reaction to the Prairie View game this year was just downright bizarre. Expected to heap praise on the coaches because of the “comeback”. I’m sorry but considering that I have standards for this program, that game was not good enough for me.

I'll step back from those idiots, what do you think about TAMU?

I’d be more worried about ATM if Buzz were still there. I’m not big on Bucky McMillan and they haven’t looked good so I think we have a very good chance. Again this type of team fits MM so if he’s gonna make a run at the tourney this would be the year.

It’s just craziness, the fact that we even have to debate this retardation is embarrassing. To have to step into fantasy and delusion just to have a discussion when all we’d like to do is talk basketball really sucks but you can’t avoid them, they hijack every thread.

Just not my cup of tea style wise and not seeing it so far at ATM but he was consistent at Samford.

The timing and the source of the report LSU was going to retain McMahon for year 4 was NOT coincidental. It was pushed out by the AD to combat the push for Wade.
And Mascona - who generally could GAF about talking about hoops. Matt who is a Catholic alum along with Woodward - got the same memo with the same numbers Dixon and other hand-picked media members got to spread the word.
I mean, it was pretty obvious if you think back, the timing of it and the same info from everyone at the same time coming out.

Very interesting post. And as someone who thinks McMahon should have been fired after last season, I will believe what you said.
As for the current team the starting 5 seems decent, but not much after that. And using Reed’s injury as an excuse, and having Robert Miller seemingly regress will most likely be the end for McMahon, and good riddance.

Thomas I think will prove to be one of the better point guards in the SEC. But as we've seen a few teams do successfully this year - SEC teams will gap him defensively and use similar type strategies to get the ball out of his hands.
Nwoko is solid but averages about only 20 minutes a game, usually due to foul trouble and this is a carryover from State last year which means we can likely expect this to continue.
I like Sutton, but unsure how he will fare when competion steps up consistently.
Mackinnon is a good shooter who still has cold spells and is a liability defensively.
And I agree with you the supporting cast has not shown me enough to believe just yet that they can fill the gaps consistently come SEC play.
We'lll see.

This is what worries me most about the current team. Reed hurt (once again, the main excuse for last year); and Miller even in Reed's absence hasnt stepped up at all. He looks actually even worse than he was last season somehow despite showing all that promise by the end of last season. Its like he just isnt taking things seriously or something. Maybe he only tries to get up for games against somebodies, who knows. We played a lot of crap OOC. Miller hanst taken a single recorded FG shot the last 3 games though and he was on the court for 46 minutes total. He went to the line and made 4 FTs for 4 points and that's it. He only collected 1 offensive board in those 46 minutes as well against vastly inferior competition. He has 2 assists to 10 turnovers since Reed went out.
With Nwoko only playing half of games our front court seems very weak potentially against some of the bigger SEC teams we might play. Sutton is having to play a ton of minutes in a bigger spot than he is wanting to play which has put Tamba on the court a ton at the 3. He has the size but not necessarily the consistent game to be a 4/5.

Reed was a huge loss that many people downplayed. Robert Miller can barely catch the ball cleanly. The same people thought he was NEXT.

LOL the mentally ill people are the ones still on here after days of babbling the same things. It’s more of an obsession. Everyone has said if McMahon doesn’t make the tournament he’s fired. The time you “mentally ill” spend on this screams I have no life. But you do you. I just came to see if the circus was still playing. As usual not disappointed. Here let me help you with the TAM posts:: if LSU wins it will be because TAM sucks . If LSU loses it will because McMahon sucks. Let’s just get that out of the way now. And no misunderstandings LSU needs to win that game. But figured I’d help you start the New Year circus.

How was today’s pickup basketball game, Gramps? Did Patrick Ewing join?

They are not a good 3pt shooting team
The ongoing problem of LSU men’s basketball that seems to never get fixed no matter how many new players LSU has yearly. Other than maybe one of Will Wades teams, I can’t remember a year when I said “ MAN LSU can shoot lights out from 3”

I would frame it that he was a significant loss that was overstated.
I'm not sure how much he would have been able to contribute this year had he not gotten hurt again as his rust was evident and he was playing with a brace.....but I'd have loved to have had him this year and last.
But injuries happen....Dale lost Rudy Macklin for all of 1980 and Scales unexpectedly for that era went hardship in 81, Nikita missed the second half of 86, Blanton got hurt early in 87 - I could go on and on an on.
