Kenpom currently has them projected to be 17-13 and 8-10 in the SEC.

I think we can get to 18/19 Regular season wins but we have got to be better in the ooc this year. I feel CMM has a decent enough feel In the SEC to win some game in conference. But can't lay an egg in this ooc.

Watch a high level early season game like ASU @ Gonzaga or Duke @ Kentucky. Then, watch LSU play. Tell me what you think.

It’s really too early to tell how this team will be, but I do like the tempo we play with and we’ll be an improved 3 point shooting team.

These next couple weeks will tell the story if we make the tournament or not. Last year we were good enough in SEC play to make the NCAA tournament, but too many non-conference losses cost us. K-State, Pitt, Wisconsin, FSU and SMU are huge games for us. Make it through non-conference with 2 losses instead of 5 and we are in great shape for a tourney bid.

Alt26 is currently proofreading his thesis on this and will post it shortly. I’ll give you a quick summary since it will be just like the rest of his posts. It will say on paper this team looks like it can be good, but.. then 2000 more words.

Not really. Not sure why anyone thinks someone should be entitled to break the rules and still keep their job.

You do realize McMahon may haul a better class than even Will Wade right? Since we are a blue blood and we have a long history of making the tournament, maybe we should fire him after 3 seasons, who knows? Bad first year, exceeded expectations last year, and putting together a top 5 class so far this year...yeah, let's get rid of him

This seems like an unnecessary drive-by on a basketball poster that has stuck with the program during the lean times.

I watched both. And I have seen ASU in other games. ASU played above their heads for a bit but Gonzaga eventually just outclassed them. They didn't look all that great in their other game.

Kentucky looks impressive. They will be tougher than I thought in the SEC. Luckily some other teams like Missouri have underwhelmed. I don't know what Tennessee and Arkansas look like.

Well, through my purple and gold glasses we have a quality big, a guard that can shoot the three in Cam and a little length at guard in Bailey, add in options for decent point play.....if we can get some production off Fountain, Collins and Chest I think we will be pretty good. We will live and die by the three ball similar to a less talented Auburn, but I think this team has a higher ceiling than last years team.

20-10 and 10-8 is my hope.

Definitely possible I don't think anyone expected us to be great out the gate so LSU just needs to keep improving. The road to 20 wins starts tomorrow at K-state.

I'm saying, compare any of these high level games early on to the two LSU games we've seen, and it is some ugly basketball being played yet again. Funny, for football we just have the deepest pockets to blow on a perennial 9-3 coach, yet In men's basketball we can't even get a fundamentally sound cohesive unit out there; it is just disorganized chaos.

Our first game looked fine. Against Alabama State our guards caught the turnovers bug and didn't shoot well to start the game. I liked the way our bigs played in both games. The guards just have to hit the 3's when they are open and protect the ball.

Pope is legit, he’s at the forefront of modern offense in CBB.

Outside expectations are low, we are picked to finish 14th in the SEC which is worse than we were picked to finish the infamous year zero.

But I do think die hard LSU fans, of which there are few but most of us few post here, think we'll be better than that.

I believe we have enough talent to finish in the middle of the SEC pack. And I agree with what some have said that if we have a better pre-conference showing than we did last year we'll have a chance to make the NCAA tourney.

I think that should be the expectation and I also think that's the reality.

You are ONE BILLION PERCENT RIGHT.

So why wasn't coach gay at puke canned for his cheating that SPANNED DECADES.

Zion's family living RENT FREE in a million dollar puke alumnus' home the one year he played there and most likely didn't attend one class. Chris Duhon's mother being moved to Durham while he played at puke, and given a cushy home and job.

Look Cinderella, EVERY MOTHERFLUCKING COACH that has ANY SUCCESS cheated over the last 50+ years in football and men's hoops.

Now if you're point is that Will got caught and coach gay didn't, did he really??? He got a slap on the wrist and will be coaching AND WINNING at a major school in short order. Also, if this is the case, do you not have any morals???

I've posted often that we should have stuck by Wade, and I will always believe that. I can forget about Wade very quickly if McMahon starts winning big here, however.

Pope does look legit. To further allesic: I haven't seen another SEC team that impressed as much as Kentucky so far, but the competition is low.

I watched him at BYU and man they put pressure on a defense. They’re not taking as many 3s so far at UK, let’s hope they don’t start hitting a ton of those.

Didn't see him at BYU, but his composure was notable. Plus his team played very well against a very good team.

Arkansas and Tennessee didn't impress nearly as much tonight. Auburn and Kentucky could be the class of the SEC and LSU could be competitive in the next 10 teams based on the eyeball test.

Don’t like the shot taken at ATL26, he’s one of the few good basketball posters on here who actually understands the game, and his opinion is valued
