I'm just passing along info I got from a person I believe knows what they're talking about. I don't claim to be super connected, but I pass along things when I hear them.
Full disclosure: I know a guy in ODU's football office who told me LSU was hosting them in 2026 in football. That has fallen through and won't happen since he told me that.
Back to the info. The Richmond transfer was paid $400k in NIL to come to LSU. So you can imagine Cenac is being offered substantially more. This is a Richmond guy that told me this, so I have no clue what Ward, Reed or others are getting in NIL. Believe this or disregard it, it's what I've heard from someone in the Richmond program.

With all due respect there’s no way we payed a 1 way player that wasn’t high in the portal 400K. Cam Carter? Ok maybe. No way in hell we gave Bailey that.

I didn't see the money change hands personally, or a deposit receipt, but I believe the guy that told me. He's a Richmond alum, and was at the "super secret" scrimmage they played last week (which isn't supposed to allow fans), and I only saw five other people that weren't coaches, players , or managers of the two teams in the entire UR arena. Until NIL payments are made public, we won't know for sure.

Yeah that kid is a Grad Transfer so essentially the rumor is we payed a 1 year player $400,000….if he had 4 years of eligibility left and that number was spread out over 4 years, I could maybe see it. Can’t wrap my head around that one though.

I have no doubt you were told that. But it was probably a big embellishment by the coaches. Makes them look better. What puts the program in a better light, losing a guy to lsu for 400k or 100k?

He was a very good spot up 3 point shooter. The rest of his game was average to below average. If we are going to make a jump in men’s bball guys like him should be coming off the bench and not key players on both ends.

I got the impression this guy is a UR booster, and if so, he would know what Bailey left for.
It's possible he may have been exaggerating to make Richmond look better, I just thought he was genuine while we were talking.
As far as tonight, I like what I'm seeing so far and I expect us to be in the NCAA s this year.
