It's important factor in strength in your next opponent. Obviously you'd rather see UCLA (#9) than the #1 team Arkansas.

Well of course, but not using rpi for that point. For instance, before the start of postseason I was more worried about Arkansas than I was about Auburn even though Auburn had a higher rpi.

So we're just not going to count Louisville?
for real. Their RPI is much lower and they’re still alive. Tie game going to B9 between them and OSU

It’s a metric that can actually penalize you for winning. It’s fricked up.

Threads like this prove that people don't understand what the RPI is.

OSU has gone home and we beat Arkansas and UCLA! You left out Louisville who just eliminated that strong RPI OSU team

How many runs do they give teams based on RPI, and do they get these runs before the game starts?

Again, RPI is an unimportant statistic that is used as justification for including or excluding teams that are on the bubble and seeding. In the games themselves, it doesn’t mean squat.

The same Arkansas team that we’ve played 4 times this year and beaten 3 of those 4 times?

Your logic is rock solid, just shut up
