Which is it? Tight or bunch? Two different things And LSU ran more than half tight formations up two 1:44 of the first half - when they dumped them - and only 2 bunch sets by the wrs

I didn't count them any differently.

You're the one making the presumption this offense was substantially different. Show your work. Go back and tell us how much we ran it in other games this year.

Methinks you're just playing the results like the uninformed poster that you are. If those two early drives end in TDs, you're on here singing the praise of the new wrinkle we're using.

This is one of the worst posts I've ever seen on the Rant. I feel sorry for the time you wasted compiling this useless melt.

That is all.

E should have stopped this experiment, IMO. But I've never said I think that he initiated it. I don't know who did.

Sure has hell wasn't Joe "They can'F'n stop it" Brady.

Furthermore, she averages about 17 post/day (EVERY DAY) since she joined The Rant. I think she has used up her allotment for the day.

So, you don't know the substantial difference between "bunch" and "tight".

So. As usual. You and your crew have descended in nothing much more than personal insults...

Have a great day_

Since you haven't been around here long I'll fill you in. LSU hasn't run much bunch formations ever. Hell, 2018's offense was revolutionary in that they ran 3-wide as much as they did. So one would have to think the new passing game coordinator is the one responsible for these formations that you detest.

Hate to say it but this was basically a practice game. It looked like they were working on some different things.

I think NFL offenses use whatever they have to to be successful.

I don't think they would use tight or bunch as often as they do if they were able to successfully use the spread as well as LSU has this year.

I'm not saying we shouldn't be using tight formations or that I don't trust the coaches to figure it out. Just that the NFL doing a lot of it isn't proof that we should doing a lot of it.

Right, I’m just responding to the OP’s dumbass notion that a tight/bunch compressed set is 1970’s era outdated football. It’s clearly not.

1970's football had one wide wide receiver and one flanker - if that.

I think you should stop giving props only to Brady.. Why...were it not for Ensminger and ultimately Orgeron, Brady wold not be here. It's not like he showed up in Baton Rouge, kicked the door in, and started forcing our coaches to call his plays. This is ENSMINGER'S offense.

I really learned a lot last week...

That this experiment is being forced on them by someone else.

Here ya go, in your own damn post. Who else would be forcing E and Brady into experimenting? According to you moron

We have been running tight formations all season long. It helps create space
“Spread” refers to an offensive philosophy — not the relative distance of your personnel in pre-snap formations.

Lining up tight? Explosion of chaos when your freakazoid athketes all release different directions into the defensive backfield.

Those kinds of formations from a team with LSU’s MO really push a defense to play zone coverage. Think about that beautiful/clean pick play with Chase/CEH — staple of the saints’ game. And whether your receivers are out 5-yards or not is totally irrelevant.

If you like disguising blitzes & defense, don’t say you don’t like this.

PS - Thad Moss is a receiving threat on any given play. TEs & RBs are part of the passing game now. Not going 4-wide every play isn’t necessarily neutering the passing game.

Spot on comment.

Clearly, it's either Derek Ponamsky or Emily Dixon.

Here you go again, trying to throw shade at O meddling with the offense and forcing them to experiment.

How many more links do I need to send?

We have run bunch all year

We just ran a lot more of it in this game

And to be fair we moved the ball well all game.

We just had issues inside the 10, which

, I said I didn't count them differently. I lumped them together for the purposes of counting. Once again, feel free to give us some numbers on previous games to prove your hypothesis.

We won 39-13 (easily beating the spread) in a very hostile environment, with way too many damned cowbells imo, without any significant injuries...

What are we bitching about again? Our offensive coaching? Really?
