Burrow said, "If we play like this against Auburn, we'll lose."
I agree.
His comment went to execution, not scheme. You can be wrong all you like--happens to everyone. But don't be dishonest.

As far as your shading to try and make people bite on your theory that Ed is meddling with the offense,

The players typically have a pretty decent idea of what gets said on the Tiger Rant. They say they "ignore it", but it makes its way to them nonetheless. For Burrow's sake, you should probably stop posting forever. You're a complete embarrassment, especially since many people think you're related to him.

I just can’t get over how smart this guy is! His analysis and answer to every scenario is legendary (in his own mind). How has he gone this long without winning every College Football Championship, much less each and every game? (Guess he would have to be a coach first). I’m thoroughly pissed we didn’t hire him! Why do we have that bum, Joe Brady, in charge of the passing game when this guy is right here and available immediately? Surely we can get him on the staff as an analyst at the very least! It’s like listening to this generation’s Bill Walsh! If only he would quit being anonymous and grace us with his true identity so LSU could guarantee a forever lasting string of NC’s! At least we can hope he will finally appear. Somebody turn on the “bat signal “ and let him know we need him now-so this guy can save us before it’s too late!!!!

quote:Granted that is my take on what Burrow meant. But you have no proof that Burrow was talking about execution. That is just your take. Don't toss the word "dishonest" around without saving some shade for yourself.

Has anyone told this guy that ‘the spread’ is not a formation, but instead, a whole offensive philosophy?
Posted on 10/21/19 at 11:12 am to slackster
Interesting that so many of the dudes who, last week, were calling for Ensminger to "fade off into the sunset" are now ardent defenders of the recent (and retarded) changes to the offense.
Hmmmmm.....

A philosophy based around spreading the field
Which bunch formations don’t really do.

"Scheme" is good enough for me.

Why you are allowed to shite on the team as much as you do on here is a mystery.

Did you read the links I posted about why NFL offenses use bunch sets, or do you want to remain in ignorance?
I think NFL offenses use whatever they have to to be successful.
I don't think they would use tight or bunch as often as they do if they were able to successfully use the spread as well as LSU has this year.
I'm not saying we shouldn't be using tight formations or that I don't trust the coaches to figure it out. Just that the NFL doing a lot of it isn't proof that we should doing a lot of it.

Which bunch formations don’t really do.
Puts athletes in open spaces. Makes defenses defend 3 to 4 times as much territory. Stresses and torques the defenders so that in almost all cases, at least one receiver is open whenever a defense takes an action. Etc and etc
And no school has run it better than LSU that I can recall. And now someone wants to throttle this offense with "tight" and "bunch" schemes?
Sounds like someone is trying to get their big fat handprint in the fresh cement for "bragging rights".

I just rewatched a condensed LSU/UF game. We ran tight/bunch formations on a third or more of our plays. This thread is ridiculous on its face.

You sound negative. Why are you trying to destroy Coach Orgeron's program? You're probably a BAMA plant...

We are 7-0 and Buckeye Jeaux would have you think the entire coaching staff but Orgeron should be fired.
- Moffit apparently locks up the jugs machine
- aranda is jealous of the offense and demands they run I-formation
- E is now sabotaging the offense

And LSU ran more than half tight formations up two 1:44 of the first half - when they dumped them - and only 2 bunch sets by the wrs

The dominant set was something out of the 1970's..
