Must be a bunch of Monroe posters on the board.

Imagine people being this upset cause I asked why a guy who didn’t hit for shite this past year is just penciled in as a starter with no competition for his spot.

Means nothing. We had no interest in stealing this year. Think that turned out ok. Pearson is a reliable bat and provides a very strong glove in the OF

Jay is always talking about how small the SEC ballparks are, so I expect his home run numbers to increase.

Get off the stat sheet and pay attention to the actual baseball games for a second and it would make much more sense to you.

It’s fine having a defensive specialist in left field when you have Crews in center and the lineup they had. Can’t wait to see all of you bitching about him if he struggles at the plate again next year.

Oh my bad for questioning why a .226 hitter is a penciled in starter that we shouldn’t dare look to upgrade. And his 1 stolen base with all that speed.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this

Pearson was 3rd on the team in OBP in SEC games, behind Crews & travinski (who had significantly less plate appearances).

Ended up t15th in the whole conference in OBP% at .434

But ya what a bum. Played really good defense too. Understand value, or don’t

I understand that’s all nice and good when you have a loaded lineup. Let’s see if you all feel the same about this with no Crews, Morgan, Dugas, Beloso, Thompson, Jobert in the lineup.

He made a great play against Florida and potentially saved the game, but he is not great OF. He improved from freshman to sophomore years, but still had a lot of room for improvement.

Only on the Rant does a thread about Bingham transferring in to LSU get hijacked by Pearson startinh in the outfield next year. How about be happy for the new recruit and let Jay and his staff set the lineup for next Year.

Imagine being upset that people think a guy with an over .400 career OBP should be in the lineup.

Nice addition! But still puzzling why he wasn't drafted, just based on his stat sheet???

So anyway, how about that kid Bingham, huh?
Great addition. I like him at the top of the lineup. Contact hitter with good speed. This is way bigger than I think some here understand.

I get your point. But TBH, every player you listed except for Crews and Tre made really strong arguments for being benched. Players can improve. That's the working assumption with Pearson, Kling, and Neal.

twss

But seriously, speaking of “big,” how big is this guy? There has to be a reason a guy with those numbers wasn’t drafted. Not that I’m not thrilled to have him, just trying to get an idea of how he profiles.

No one said Pearson is a bum.

But he is not a guaranteed starter next year and if you can bring in competition and proven players who can hit with higher average, more power and play solid defense then you have to play them if Kling, Guidry, Pearson, Jones, or Nippolt can’t show they will provide more production. If Milazzo comes back and out hits Neal, you gotta give them equal reps early and play Milzzo when it counts in the Sec

Pearson is crushing in the Cape btw, and made Sportcenter’s top 10 for a play he made in the OF yesterday. Just fyi fwiw.
