That player would be deemed ineligible. It’s not illegal For a player to be payed you just can’t play them in a game afterwards.
We only have proof that OBJ payed Jefferson. Jefferson is no longer considered an amateur and is ineligible under NCAA bylaws. As long as he doesn’t play for LSU again, in this particular instance, we have done nothing wrong no matter how bad it looks

The kids were caught up in the biggest moment of their lives. OBJ knows better than that. He had to get those Beats approved as part of the NCAA gift package to the players. He was just showing off and getting more attention on himself and, yes, he acted like a fool. I would not invite him back.
I don't think he's a good role model, frankly. He was a great athlete and has been very successful financially, but outside of football (and even on the field), he's an arse. He should be embarrassed. I am.

I think the point is that as soon as the clock hit 0:00, the NCAA career was over for Joey B, Jefferson, Chaisson, Queen, all the other seniors and the every other player that declares over the next two days. It’s no different than an agent heading them money today. Just looked bad to people looking for something to complain about. Now if a player that stays got money, that would be a different story.

Joe DGAF. Neither did OBJ. Anyone who doesn't think this is potentially harmful to the program is delusional.
ETA: I get how in "the moment", this was a really weird and confusing moment. Still looks bad to the rest of the people that hate us for winning.

Dude has obviously drunk and/or high as frick. It’s no excuse and once again we look like fools in the national media because we issued a statement that it was fake money. OBJ single-handedly managed to take a night that was supposed to be about LSU and Louisiana and make it all about him, possibly getting the university in hot water with the NCAA. How fricking stupid can he be? The media went from talking about LSU being the greatest ever to the possibility of NCAA sanctions.
