I think you're being a little too melodramatic. Two years ago Michigan State made the playoffs. Ohio State was close to making it this year. I don't believe LSU is that far downtrodden that we are nowhere close to being a contender. True MSU was beaten badly, but Alabama could have had a bad game.

LSU is not that far away from being in the playoffs.

Yeah. I have been pumping O night and day for months. All one has to do is check my post history to see that. I am cashing in my nest egg to make sure we keep him too.

Maybe we have one on the roster between the two freshman, maybe we don't.

I'm not saying we will be able to recruit one either, but we are a still a play making QB away.

Well yeah. That’s the reason we made a coaching change last season.

We're further away today than we were last year.

We hung with Bama & beat Auburn who blew out UGA(40-17) at one point. Not saying we are there, but thoughts on this?

I agree with you. I meant good luck convincing many of these posters or expecting any substantive discussion.

Auburn was such a hot and cold team this year. Hell, they were such a hot and cold team over the course of our game. And I wouldn’t really say we hung with Bama. We didn’t get blown out, but we were never really a threat to win that game.

While I agree with the sentiment of your comment, I think the QB position and disciplined look of the offensive play calling is the biggest gap. Both correctable, but with the current offensive philosophy at LSU, they’re not even close.
ETA - Wid3 receiver coaching, as well.

We did not improve as much as I had hoped on offense, but I don't see how the program went backwards. RB will be somewhat of a question mark next season, but we will be better at QB. The lines will be deeper, and we finally have several playmakers at LB. We will have a reliable kicker. I would like to see what Canada can do in year two, but we'll have to see what happens wth that.

We have a worse head coach and no offensive identity.

QB, RB, and WRs are all a huge question marks next season.

The defense should be elite.

We out gained bama and missed on 2-3 throws that would have had us right there. We played bama tougher than Clemson did last night

In the OU / UGA game there was no defense. That game was fun for the eyes, those arent complete teams tho.
