LSU is not directly paying athletes (NIL Related)

I don't know why people can't understand that athletes get paid, because of the NIL rules, through sponsorships.
LSU cannot pay player to play any sport. LSU can help student athletes get sponsorship deals, but they cannot directly compensate an athlete.
I'm not saying schools aren't breaking the rules, but if any university, Alabama, TAMU, or any school, pays players it is doing so illegally.
So Alabama or TAMU is not paying their players more than LSU because they are not paying their players.

Its semantics. If you don't think each school is working with donors to get the best NIL deals for these recruits you are naive.

Rich booster pays millions above MSRP for a vehicle at the local car dealership
Car Dealership decides to use that large influx of cash to sponsor big recruits

Exactly. It comes down to which donors have the biggest pockets?
It’s obvious LSU is not currently in that conversation, YET.
They had to pay out all of this buyout money recently and BK’s contract. If LSU doesn’t embrace it, they’ll just fall behind A&M. The gap between Bama will grow larger

In addition, Ole Miss is now paying all student-athletes an "eligibility bonus," and I believe at least one other SEC school has created another way to pay students directly.
The money generally will pale compared to NIL deals, but direct payments are way for all student-athletes to get the benefit that only a few will have for NIL deals.

Theoretically schools are just agents. Now the school walks into a house and the family says we will sign for 1 million. School says you got it. I have a guy lined up to pay you today. College sports are turning into the Olympics.

Boosters pay for a huge chunk of our program.
We just need to redirect that money to bullshite like Texas is doing.

Both are amateur sports. I don’t see why there should be a difference

We do understand

Yes, that is what people are talking about.

No one is saying this

Take out NIL and it’s just like it’s always been.
The direct cash, especially at the top, is a little more absurd than it was but if you think about it when they were paying bills, X amount of dollar handshakes, hiring relatives, etc the money for most players is probably about the same as before it’s just in the open now.

Why the need to post this stupidity? I know some ranters are dumbasses but do you feel smart stating what even the stupidest people already know? The fact that you need to post this says that you think the info is important and news to everyone, thus showing how stupid you are. We know the "rules" of NIL and realize they aren't paid "directly" captain obvious.

Are you high? College athletes have been getting paid to play since the beginning of college athletes.

As they should be but that isn't the same as paying the players directly from the university.

Like I’ve said in other threads it’s shocking that we find ways to pay millions in buyouts and new coaching contracts , but we can’t seem to find ways to navigate the NIL for players. Every player on this team should be sponsored by Tony’s, Zattarains,Tabasco,Crystal,Rasing Canes, etc.. We can continue to make excuses but we are way behind on NIL

Schools don't pay them directly. They do it through intermediaries. But the program has to exist and has to be set up. There should be no reason why we would have to take a back seat to anyone when it comes to this.

If schools are aligning with boosters to do this, they will get in trouble and the NCAA is already looking into it
Boosters are still not allowed to interfere with recruiting but it is a very large gray area that has been opened

Yup, just a modern version of the foam finger with a ticket inside setup to get around scalping laws.
Big 12 guy on twatter (no check mark) posted last week that the NCAA was already looking at A&M and OU among a few others for NIL violations.
