You think Davis runs like Hill??

Future looks good, but we need either a new OC or a Bama-esque OL to take the next step.
Remember, Bama stonewalled even Leonard Fournette with our OL and Ensminger’s play calling. Think he had like 35 yards.

On special teams as well. Had a great chance to score on kickoff but CEH was caught from behind.

To slow and tentative to hit the hole, and no speed for the edge
Tigers averaged barely over 4 ypc this year, third worse in the conference.

LSU is a quality OL away from being scary
FIFY. The pocket protection and resulting passing performance he had Tuesday is indicative of what happens when your OL is materially better than your opponent's.

We should hold hands and buttchug some Bud Lights then. It'll be fun.
Wasn’t that the original UT?

There were holes, our backs just aren’t hitting them. They don’t run down hill. There was a reason brossette sat for three years. If you don’t think we need help at RB you’re frickin crazy.
It isn’t that Brosette and CEH don’t “run down hill.” They just aren’t fast. And it isn’t just raw speed. Neither has quick feet and that burst. They are solid backs and CEH will make a great change of pace back next year, but what we really lack is a back with burst to the hole. I saw SEVERAL open up yesterday that a guy filled before the back could get through.
Emery and Davis, both of whom have both power and speed, will help more than anything with this. They won’t need the line to hold a block for 6 seconds for them to clear the line. They will be at the second level already. Mix in CEH as a third-down and spot guy and either Fournette or Provins for some additional quickness, and you’ve solved some of your run game problems regardless of the line.
Now, I know they need to improve, especially in the red zone. However, it isn’t all on them. Having legit SEC starter-quality backs again will help just as much.

Of course we have to keep building on both the offensive and defensive lines... which I think we are.
The LSU O-line was a patchwork line for many games. Having a healthy O-line this year, LSU beats A&M easy, probably FL too.

Brossette had a very solid year. Proud of that kid for sticking it out and paying his dues. CEH had some solid moments as well. Plain and simple had Emery and Davis been on this team Brossette and CEH would have been the 3rd and 4th string RB's.

I look forward to some Lanard Fournette in the spring game

We only averaged 3.1 per carry. Pass play was around 15 yards a pass. We should have passed more and we would have won bigger.

LSU is not even "Close" to being "Scary" until we have "Scary Good" OL/DL talent and depth like Bama.
Not there yet. I don't even see the "Light at the end of the Tunnel" yet...….

The Catholic High grads on here love to shite on Brossette. Ask Burrow which one he’d rather have back there watching his back when the OL was leaking. And by all means, let’s demean the guy that gained over a thousand yards running behind mostly pitiful blocking. Most of the first half in the bowl they were both dodging their own blockers being pushed back into the backfield. Our blocking scheme wasn’t good and was exacerbated by most opponents DL pushing our line backwards at the snap.

LSU is a RB away from being scary.
LSU is a good OC/QB coach, WR coach, QB, OL, RB, DL coach and DL away from being scary.
quote:This I agree with
With Emery and Davis coming in next year, it will be a fun team to watch. We don’t have one RB on this roster that could make someone miss, and take it to the house. We had good backs, but not a one made opposing defenses scared.
quote:Looks the same as it always had. Thank God we were playing a shitty UCF defense who also had a backup QB that missed a ton of throws.
Future looks bright to me!

Umm.. no. We are an offensive line away from being scary. We got RBs.

I don’t see how some on here think these freshman backs will just come in and pick up where they left off from high school. It usually takes about a season for any player to adjust to the speed of the game. Remember LF his freshman year? It took him a little while to adjust and he was considered one of the best backs to ever come out of high school.

We need some road grater offensive linemen.. an upgrade at rb will be awesome but it starts with the guys up front
