I could see Burrow having a Senior Mett type year plus some QB running threat.
And, our OL wasn't great this year but the whole damned thing returns doesn't it? And, even bad this year, we averaged over 4 yards per carry and 8th in the SEC.
Given that early on, our passing attack was suspect, one can assume we run a bit better if the passing is there.
That's my P&G glasses outlook for the moment.

Agree. That’s why Brossette was lead back this year overall. At times Hellaire dances too much. Sometimes you have to put your head down and just take the 1 or two yards to avoid a negative play. I appreciate what both backs did for us this year, but neither are elite backs. Emory and Davis signing was much needed.

Our current RBs did play with a lot of heart and toughness. They are talented, but lack that top end gear to make a long run a TD

CEH as a sophomore is a beast and will only get better. He could be monster. If so will give Emery and Davis a chance to grow into the role without as much pressure as if we didn’t have a serious running threat ahead of them.

You could hardly be more wrong. A great running back would not have changed much for LSU this year. We needed a better offensive line most of all. After that, running back, wide receiver, and another tight end were all about 2a, 2b, and 2c.

I agree, but remember, these guys were both sophomores. In a well run program they should see their first starts as juniors unless they are superstars. Let's see what Austin Deculus and Saahdiq Charles do next year.

Brossette ran for over a 1000 yds this season which is very solid running, but you're right he isn't exactly what LSU has been used to at RB this past year. He's a solid RB and should make a pro squad, but he's not that elite RB that they always have mixed in amongst really good RB's like him. He shared the rock with CEH and didn't get a whole lot of running attempts, but he still managed to churn out a 1000 yds.
But LSU won't be scary as you put it because they're a team that still has the wrong people leading them, and so they will always underachieve until they get a really good young HC there that will bring out all that potential that they have every season, but never fully tap into it because of all the dumb mistakes they make on both sides of the ball. Yesterday, was a perfect example of that. They should have blown out C Florida, but you'll have people on here that will continue to make excuses for LSU's play instead of insisting on the best. That's the kind of program LSU has become, a bigtime program that Saban started and people should keep it at that level, but oh well, you know how fans are on here. LOL

Yeah, CEH irritates me sometimes because he will try to make something out of nothing when surrounded by tacklers instead of just running forward and churning out yards after contact. He will run backwards trying to elude tacklers and wind up losing yardage costing LSU a first down in some cases when he had the first down already. Lol

Rbrosette had a first down yesterday and lost yardage trying to turn it outside. The defensive players were faster than he was.
I think he's a good situational RB who did well despite some shortcomings. But our running game was one of the worst in the conference at less than 4.1 ypc

Yeah, but you can't compare Brossette to CEH because Brossette is always running straight ahead. You may have a rare example of what you just said where he did something like that trying to get a first, but Brossette is a slasher and is always going forwards whereas Edwards-Helaire is always dancing trying to create, and in most cases he loses yardage because he's kinda slow, he's not Barry Sanders.

I watched Brossette run to the sideline yesterday and lose yards, I also saw CEH carry 4 of those trash talking A holes on his back for 5 yards up the middle.

Listen, you guys will always see what you wanna see, that's just the way it is. It's football, a game I played all my young life, and not every play is gonna be positive or good. You will have negative plays losing yards on some runs, and then you can come right back and break off a lot of runs for positive yardage on some carries, that's football. But y'all trying to discredit Brossette is foolish, he ran for over a thousand yds this season for a reason, and I am not saying Edwards-Helaire is a bad RB, he had some decent runs yesterday and during the season, it's just that he does some things that he doesn't need to do, but this was his first time starting out at RB this year at that level. And so he'll learn from experience and become a much better RB next season, but Brossette is or was the without a doubt the more consistent RB of the two this season.
