Problem is our bigs were never taught to block out until this year. Not Sure you can call Epps a big . We need to come out in man to man defense to see who has heart. I can see what Wade can do Already. He is good bench coach , just not the right players to play his style, YET, When we get these big rebounding recruits next year totally different story. When we press there is NO backside help. Not a single shot blocker. Sad to realize how little talent Jones left here. Going out on the ledge if Jones was here we may had won 5 to 7 games this year .

Reath and Epps are both as soft as Charmin with hardly any athleticism.

They are interesting big men, because they both can hit open jumpers.

They feel like big men that would play for the mid 90s Jazz

We need to try to steal one of those games against Tenn or UF, if we can make it 2-2 out of this stretch I’ll take it. 19 pts isn’t much in college B-ball. Try to close it and make it a game in the final 4 minutes.

Reath has been playing lights out the last few games. He has 33% of LSUs first half points. GFY

Auburn has a very good team who is on fire, so losing to them is no issue with LSU's talent, but progress is important in each game and the rebounding is extremely poor right now against a team they have a size advantage over.

Looks like to me everyone on the team is scared of contact. I don't expect everyone to be like Dennis Rodman on the boards, but show some toughness trying to get rebounds.

I never said he was a bad player. He's been our only offensive weapon the past couple of weeks.

But he is really soft. No arguing that.

Also, calm down. No need to tell someone GFY (which I'm guessing means 'go *#@+$ yourself') for making an observation.

It’s not much if you have 3 pt shooting, but with Waters playing like crap, it ain’t happening. Matching them 2 for 2 or even 4 for 2 won’t get it done.

It's the ND game 2.0. LSU is allowing the opponent to get whatever comfortable shot they want.

Take a little pride and get angry on D that your opponent is kicking your arse and laughing at you. Be a competitor

And still averages almost 2 rebounds more than Reath who’s an inch taller and 30lbs heavier.

Rebounding is a mindset. It’s about aggression and physicality, and let’s face it, Epps and Duop are soft. They’re not bad at the technical aspect of it, but they have no agression, they don’t attack the boards. Think about this, the three greatest rebounders of all time were all 6’8 or shorter. Rodman 6’7, Barkley 6’5, Malone 6’8. It’s about mindset, not size.

Yes, it's definitely an issue. Even when we foul, it's usually very soft. Sometimes you have to impose a little will. We're not built for that yet, but we have a few guys that could play much tougher.

Bingo!

The whole team has a problem standing around. Blocking out clicks in on occasion but most of the time we remember too late. And the other team already has position advantage.

Agree and with Reath it’s more of not being coached for so long he doesn’t instinctively know how to do it. He doesn’t track the ball at all sometimes he’ll block a guy out and still be doing it when the ball coles off the rim. It’s like he can’t do both at once and he doesn’t anticipate where the ball is going at all.

That clip of WW talking about tough, gritty Tiger basketball was interesting. His philosophy is correct then the camera pans the room and you see very few kids who can fulfill that philosophy. They just aren’t on campus yet.

See what I mean we drive the lane our shot get blocked. Others can do anything they want in our lane. No shot blockers at all.

Absolutely no excuse not to get that rebound.
