Man, I love LSU. It's a part of my soul. I'm an alum and donate to fundraising efforts all the time. I never miss a football game and have basketball and baseball tix as well.
But let me tell you how this works.
The ability to compete and possibly win a Super Bowl simply doesn't compare 1:1 to anything that can be accomplished in the college game. Not in football. Not in anything.
If I had to compare the accomplishments, I'd say a Super Bowl is worth like at least 3 or 4 national championships in football, probably 7 national championships in basketball and like 30 baseball championships.
But let me tell you how this works.

Tom Benson and now his wife's greed! State tax payers are paying the richest person in Louisiana $400 million over 20 years because Tom threatened to move the Saints to San Antonio after Katrina or in other words, used extortion! Meanwhile, LSU football receives ZERO state tax dollars and is having to give the university around $8 million a year thanks to state budget cuts. Where are the state's priorities? LINK

I’m not a die hard Saints fan by any means, but I like to see the team from Louisiana do well. Definitely don’t hate them by any stretch of the imagination and I’m not sure why you would in the first place, unless you’re a fan of another NFC South team.

Tigerbaiting is fine but it gets out of hand, and it gets out of hand a lot. I fail to see how acting like a classy fan is a bad thing but you’re probably one of the drunk assholes making us all look like shitheads.

You invest in the things that are successful and working. LSU sports has Joe Alleva at the helm. Why would you throw money at Joe Alleva? I'd much rather invest in Mickey Loomis and Sean Payton. They produce a much better product and this is coming from someone who loves LSU sports.
Bottom line is, LSU sports is successful despite Joe Alleva and the lack of funding and the one sport that he has his hands most in, football, is the one sport most LSU fans have the least amount of hope in and underachieves the most.

I used to refuse to pull for the Saints, when Archie Manning played there, because he played at Ole Miss. Years ago, thinking back, I learned how petty that was and started pulling for the home team.

This is the dumbest thing ever.
Do a search of the world wide web and count the number of things in just New Orleans proper that are named "Tom and Gayle Benson..." He was a shrewd businessman, cut-throat perhaps. THEN he married Mrs. Gayle. At the institution where I am employed they gave, directly, $9,000,000 since 2009 AND chaired another campaign that raised over $20,000,000. At another institution with which I was affiliated, they gave another $10,000,000. Greed. You do not even begin to comprehend the meaning.
And these are the ones I can comment upon, directly, let us not forget Loyola, Tulane, Ochsner and others.

Do not like most saints fans.
I do love Drew Brees. He’s a class act and a family man that every athlete should emulate.
Besides Brees, I’m neutral about their team. They’re good but need to be better than they were against Philly (mostly the first half) to beat the Rams.
Im not rooting for or against them. Actually probably slightly in their favor cause I like Brees so much. He is so disrespected in the greatest QB of all time conversation. frick Tom Brady
