Why can't you like both teams? It's not like they play each other or compete for the same athletes. I prefer the atmosphere of gameday more at an LSU game and I often compare going to a Saints game to going to WrestleMania but it is still fun and I am a passionate fan of both teams.

don’t dislike the saints, I cheer for them, but I’m not super passionate about them like I am LSU. I’m sure a lot of LSU fans feel the same way.

OP obviously lives in a bubble and somehow rationalized that since he (and maybe his acquaintances where he lives) doesn't like the saints that most LSU fans don't like the Saints.

What is it with y'all? Louisiana isnt some large state where you get to pick and choose your teams. There's only 4M people in this state.
If you're from Louisiana you should root for Louisiana teams(except ULL since they obviously don't want to be part of Louisiana). You think the Saints are the only team to have trashy fans? And speaking of which, having lived in other states besides Louisiana, I can tell you that the Saints fans really aren't that trashy. In fact, they're probably one of the least trashy fan bases, which is kind of strange considering Louisiana has a lot of trashy people in it.

Yet universally we're seen as the most hospitable and welcoming fanbase in all of the country. Both LSU and Saints fans. It's featured almost every single time there's a game in Baton Rouge or New Orleans. From Louisiana fans hanging out with the opposing teams fans at bars after the game to inviting everybody and their mama to our tailgates.

I know a 80+ year old who lives in Ascension parish. He is a diehard LSU fan to the core. He couldn't give two shits about the Saints, but he doesn't root against them.
