BATON ROUGE – There's no NFL Combine this year, however had there been one, eight LSU Tigers were on the invite list, the NFL announced on Tuesday. The NFL Combine was put on hiatus this year due to Covid-19 so instead of bringing the players to Indianapolis for the much-anticipated pre-draft event, the NFL will utilize Pro Day at each of the schools to supplement what is normally done at the combine. LSU's Pro Day is scheduled for March 31 at the Indoor Practice Facility on campus. The event will be covered by the SEC Network, ESPN and the NFL Network. LSU's list of NFL Combine invitees this year include: fullback/tight end Tory Carter, wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, linebacker Jabril Cox, wide receiver Terrace Marshall, wide receiver Racey McMath, defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin, safety JaCoby Stevens and defensive back Kary Vincent Jr.

"It's a tremendous honor to be invited to the NFL Combine and I'm proud of each of these guys for putting themselves in position to take the next step of their football career," LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said. "It's disappointing that this group won't be able to have the full NFL Combine experience, but I know they are training hard and will put on a great performance at our Pro Day later this month."

I actually like having these events in house. It’s another opportunity for LSU to show off our facilities and history of success.

I’d like to get some action on whether he shows up over 350.

The times are always better/faster at LSU Pro day on the indoor turf as opposed to NFL Combine conditions at Indy.

You simply won't get comparable times that way.

If they aren't running on the same surface, it's apples to oranges.

This is very good news for Chase.

It’s not the turf that gets the fast times, it’s the timing mechanisms. Last I read they were trying to get a universal implement for every one.

It would be kinda funny if he showed up at like 400 pounds and wondered why everyone made a big deal about it

I understand LSU has no leverage from a player relations standpoint to pull any stunts but I think its shitty that Chase, Shelvin and Marshall quit on the team to focus on their own shite but then expect LSU to host their pro-day.

Someone around the nation will run a 38 yard “40” and break the record.

Because some folk actually believe in loyalty, team, purpose, a cause......some people wanna make every possible excuse for them simply because they're athletes, and that's why we have these athletes of today

True which is why I'm glad Kary Vincent is performing. He's fast no matter where you are and we know 100% he'd be a sub 4.4 guy at the combine. He'll be a good gauge of everyone else's time.
