Just FTR, I understand why we claim him. He’s phenomenal . He was phenomenal at LSU. But he doesn’t claim us. He did his time here, but he has no emotional attachment to LSU or Louisiana. Just sayin ‘.

He doesn’t need a “real offensive game”. He could score 25 a night if he wanted too.

So you’re not on board with LSU hoops joining the elite program status? Cause 1 and dones who don’t “revere” their college experience are getting their teams to alot of final 4’s now.

3 Point shots made in first 100 games

Even Rajon Rondo, another PG who can't shoot (60% career FT) is a 31% career 3-point shooter.
His first season in the NBA, he shot 20%$ from three and was 6/29 overall. He was 5/19 his second year. In his first 8 years in the league, he shot 25% from three. His last 5 years he's shot over 35% from three, so he's significantly improved his shot over his career.

Try to keep up. I'm just stating a fact. Ben Simmons DNGAF about LSU. You can make of that what you want, but it is what it is. I specifically acknowledged his greatness as a player while AT LSU. I took nothing away from him.
As for "One and Done", it is an unpleasant reality I have been forced by reality to accept. It diminishes the level of basketball, hurts fan loyalty, gives the University a mercenary feel-it's garbage. College basketball would be well-served to adopt the college baseball "straight from HS or 3 year" rule.

Simmons didn’t give af about the NCAA and its rules which forced him to play a year of college ball. That’s not the same as not caring about LSU unless you’re just overly emotional.

Ben has never said anything bad about LSU. He simply did not care for the rules requiring he play college basketball. He would have been the #1 overall pick out of high school and was still the #1 overall pick after college, so when he says his year of college ball was basically worthless, he was voicing an indictment on players being required to play college ball. And he's absolutely right. He didn't benefit whatsoever from a year of college basketball. That's not saying he doesn't care about or that he hates LSU. That's saying he hated being forced to do something that served no benefit to his basketball career.

What was our record that year he played half the season?
To be fair he it was more like 3/4's of the season.

Not an NCAA rule, it's an NBA rule.

But Ben's got a ways to go, since he's starting from ground-zero... literally. He hasn't made a single 3-pointer in his NBA career and has attempted a grand total of one (1) 3-pointer his year.

Is there a reason you're comparing 3's made between a shooting/scoring guard and a power forward?

Could have sure, but wouldn't have had the exposure and probably wouldn't have been the #1 overall pick IMO.
