Usually I hate threads like this so I apologize in advance but just noticed that A&M is favored in this game at 59.9% and -2 in the betting lines. They ARE NOT EVEN RANKED ! I know it's a home game for them but they have been pretty garbage most of the year. What am I missing here ??

A&M and Ole Miss are consistently ordained by the media as the best 4-5 loss team in the nation year in and year out. They have centered on A&M this season because of Jim Bob

This isn’t shocking

Obviously his point is that it's surprising the #7 team in the country is the underdog vs an unranked opponent.

Pretty sure it was espn that had us ranked 19th in the power rankings. Behind at least one 4 loss team. Normally these “no love” posts annoy the crap out of me, but I’d say this season would have to be the exception. With the exception of the exception for Bama. :eye roll:

Same here. I don't think LSU is playoff worthy this year but we are a better team than A&M.. have been all year and we are deserving of a very decent bowl game. . It's not p&g glasses.. that's insulting to me. Color me triggered I guess.

How will we score points on them?

That’s just how projections work. Drew Brees has been projected at about 16 fantasy points for the last 3 weeks even though he’s put up 30+. The talking heads set a narrative in the preseason like “Drew Brees will have a down year because of the Saints’ newfound focus on their running game” and then run with it until the end of the year. We’ve been underrated by the spread all year long and it’s not changing now, just gotta go out and take care of business one last time

jkyle,

Here's some edu-m-cation fer ya:

Betting lines are not in ANY way based on who the odds makers think is going to win or lose. They are based on how the oddsmakers think betters with money are going to bet.

Betting odds have little to do with the teams and everything to do with the people who lay money down.

If this betting line means that LSU is not getting respect, what it really means is that LSU is not getting respect from all the betters. Who cares what they think?

Texas A&M is undefeated at home, has a very tough run defense and is averaging three QB sacks per game. If they keep LSU from getting decent yardage on the ground, it may be a tough game for us if our O-line can't protect Burrow when he's in the pocket. The Aggies will be very motivated to end our Tigers' win streak against them.

hey have been pretty garbage most of the year.

They are 7-4. Two losses came from the current #1 ranked team, Alabama and the current #2 ranked team, Clemson. The other two came from Mississippi St & Auburn. The of those losses were on the road.

They did beat UK and I think there is a lot of comparison to this year's UK team and LSU.

A&M's offense is currently ranked 23rd. LSU's offense is currently ranked 87th.

To some degree I think MSU sort of exposed our offense. We scored the one TD in the first quarter then after that we had 4 FGs.

I have no idea what A&M's game plan is, but I would imagine to some degree they will focus on shutting down the run game, forcing us to have to pass.. Throw some blitzes at Burrow, causing him to have to rush getting the ball out. If they can force 3 and outs by our offense early, it keeps our defense on the field.

The first few possessions will be very important. We have to get up first and make A&M play from behind.

I know we are ranked 7th and A&M isn't ranked.. But it's all about the matchups and this will be a big win for both programs. We win, we finish 10-2 and will likely gets a New Years 6 bowl game. Also, a lot of shite has to happen, but at 10-2, if ND losses and OSU beats Michigan and then goes on to lose the Big 10 title game, there will be talk about whether or not LSU should be in. While that isn't likely, if we then go on and beat a quality opponent in the bowl game that gives us momentum going into the offseason.

If A&M wins, Jimbo Fisher finishes 8-4 his first year and there will be talk about how LSU didn't hire Jimbo and that he is a better coach than O, etc.. So this game is actually pretty big for both programs. As they say "what does the odds makers know that we don't?" and when you see lines like this.. Where people will think picking LSU is a sure thing because they are a top 10 team and A&M isn't even ranked there is usually a reason why they open the line at whatever it opens at.

We were better than Arkansas and it was a one score game late in the 4th.

We were better than UF and we got our teeth kicked in all day.

We were better than Auburn and we needed a last second FG to win.

News flash; this team sucks on the road.
